The Right To Love - Chapter 3

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Continuation of the Simon-centric 100 prompts story. Simon and Kaylee's relationship deepens, while River is unsettled by something she feels. And Mal and Inara fight - big surprise. Rated NC-17 for some lovin'.

A/N: Sorry for the delay in getting this one posted - had a big ol' plot hole in three of these prompts that had to be fixed - Thanks to Leiasky and Leighkohl1 for helping to snap me out of my writer's block funk!

Thanks to Leiasky for the beta ... and continued encouragement.

And don't forget to comment ... I'd hate to send Reavers after ya - they're so messy! :op

The Right To Love - Chapter 3 (Prompts 16-20)

016. Current

Simon could not remember being on prettier planet. The sky overhead was as blue as any he’d ever seen and the expanse of ocean that stretched out before him was even bluer than that.

Lying back in the soft sand with a sigh, he closed his eyes, feeling the sun fall down on his bare chest. He could just hear the sound of Kaylee and his sister, frolicking in the water and it was with this contented sound filling his ears that he fell into a restful sleep.

“Time to wake up, sweetie.”

Kaylee’s hot breath and very wet body were molded onto Simon as he came to with a start. He brought his arms around her as she laid her wet, swimsuit-clad body on top of him and rolled over with her, bringing them both to their sides. “Well, hello,” he murmured, kissing her passionately and tasting the sea salt on her lips.

“Hmm, hello,” she murmured into his mouth, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him close.

Running his hands down behind her, he flattened his palm against the small of back and pressed her to him, causing her to gasp slightly as she felt his hardening length brush against her thigh. “Why, Simon,” she murmured again, moving her mouth from his and kissing him along his cheek and ear and down his neck. “I do believe you’re happy to see me.”

Of course it wouldn't stay fluffy - w've read your other stuff 'round here.

But damn...today is the first time in a long while I fervently wished I lived near the beach again.

Damn...if there were plot holes here originally, you and your merry band of wordsmiths really did a bang-up job of filling them in nicely;D

Also, definitely intrigued as to the pain River is feeling. Not Silee or Mal/Inara-induced...Zoe's lingering grief? Or are you revving up for some angst Rayne to tease and delight?

YEY!

Oh my. The begining on the beach was just ... whoa. And then Simon with his sunburn - heeheehee!

Love River, very In Character. Well, all of them are.

You write Silee SO well. And I like the lil Mal - Zoe bit too. I prefer Silee to M/I anyday but it's nice to have a bit slipped in there. :D:D

Very intrigued to see what River's sensing. I too wondered if it was to do with Zoe but I don't doubt you have a few tricks up your sleeve. :D

Oh but how far since Miranda is this chapter taking place? xx

All that pretty pale skin...on the beach, sunburn, rubbing lotion . . .oh, where was I?

Red like a lobster! Bwahaaha!

At least they made up before the angst begins. . .
