Huh...so any official model name for your new creation, JT? Cuz it's smaller than a Firefly but it does share quite a few design cues with Serenity and her brethren...Junebug perhaps?

Akshully...I had a whole blurb written up for the ship but could never get it to upload so I scragged it.
The orificial desig is an 01-T/A53 Goshawk. Armaments include 6 air to air missiles (port wing), a 90mm HV autocannon (starboard wing), and the GAU-15B 40mm rotary cannon chin mount. Like Hotpoint I figgered the 40mm was too big to mount under the chin so it's off to the side for a stronger mounting.

Well...I wanted to argue that the US military's A-10 Warthog tank-buster plane has a 40mm rotary cannon on it's "chin," but then I recalled the Warthog is built AROUND the gun. Supposedly even acts as a giant airbrake if the plane is moving along quickly when the gun is fired;D

So the new craft is armed, huh? Still a transport, or are you siding with Hotpoint and crafting an armed troop lander or patrol boat?

Akshully it's a multi-mission bird. Close air support, tank/bunker busting, AND a transport. Always thought there was too much wasted space on a firefly. That's why I got rid of the mess deck. To haul troopies the cargo bay was roofed over to make a troop deck (about the level of the catwalks in Serenity). Cargo deck is split to load small stuff (mules & troops) up front, rear ramp for big stuff like trucks & tanks. Hence the reconfigged tail.

BTW- The A-10 has a GAU-8 30mm gat. Just thought you'd like to know.
