Kaylee:

I was outside our bunk, Simon was locked inside. He had been locked inside since he snapped out of his crazy trance he was in. I shuddered at the thought of what he almost did. I knew I was gonna have some nasty bruises and I was already starting to swell up. Inara tried to coax me away from the hatch with a special sweet brew of one of her teas, but I was so afraid to leave Simon alone I told her to bring the cup to me.

“Kaylee, I know you love him, but he’s dangerous right now, we don’t know what he’s capable of,” Inara said putting her arm around me. I shook my head.

“You stood by Mal, when we all were scared about him running after the New Browncoats, so of all people on this ship I expect you to be on my side,” I said, my voice was horse and squeaky, but it didn’t matter. I'm not much of a Zayne fan, but I like the other little plot twists you've added here with Simon and the new gens of Browncoats.

...oh and the conflicts between the crew
and Jayne saying he wasn't Wash...and of course Mal's determination to protect his growing family...good stuff

Certainly makes you wonder if Simon did have something wonky done to him when he was little, since River's got freaky powers of her own that appear to be genetically-related:(

Spectacular work here, Nailani:D

Ok if you didn't know I'm kinda hooked. This has taken an interesting turn with this whole project Ares. But I'm kinda missing the Zoe-Jayne storyline.
