Title: Everything is Grey

By: 2x2

Right and wrong. How many nights have I spent arguing with myself over where that line is drawn? Where it should be drawn? If it can be at all?

And is that really a question I should be asking?

The first thing I learned out here in the Black is that every colour fades into a shade of grey when in space. Nothing remains the same. Nothing is black and white. Everything is grey.

At first I’d thought it was the ‘verse that had changed since I’d been away, but it’s not really. It’s just more visible out here; the symptoms are the same. I used to think I was the cure for such diseases of men - arrogance and pride, my friend, arrogance and pride.

There is no cure for Man.

At least, not without help.

Morality may be questionable out here, but there are souls, good souls, who still live in the light. You just need to recognize that the light is a little more grey out here than elsewhere.

But it still shines.

Ooh...definitely got Ron/Book's voice down here, 2x2! Especially potent if you have this as a post-series, pre-BDM moment for the good Shepherd;)

I wish there was more, just started getting into it and then it was over. Sad face.
