Blue Sun Room FILK - FILK
There is no truth to be seen,
No semblance of what is real.
Not on this side of the silk.
Her heart and soul reside
Undercover, under covers.
To her words there is meaning,
Yet there is more to what is left
Unspoken.
To the Companion there is no substance,
Not in his eyes,
But to the woman there is so much.
Too much, sometimes.
He cannot see all that is there,
He is blinded by
Words and wiles.
At times he wonders what
He really sees, or whether he sees
At all.

I really like this piece of prose, good reflections on how Mal really sees Inara vs. how he sees her profession.
