Re: my last blog and a plea
Monday, 29 October 2007 01:11:13

In my last blog, I said that my brother is going back to Iraq, and I didn’t want anyone leaving any comments that were anti-Iraqi war. Then I just realized something: I left a blog on a site about a show where two of the main characters are war veterans. This is perhaps one of the last places you’d find someone who was anti-Iraqi war! LOL! I’m sorry if I offended anybody. Now, I’m not going to get political here. I have my opinions about the war, and I’m not going to start now. But for those of you are anti-Iraqi war (if you’re here), I’m going to ask something of you. If you like getting into political discussions (which is okay, as it’s something people enjoy doing and you have the right to do it), please be sensitive to the people around you. The person standing next to you may have a child/spouse/sibling/other close relative/lover/friend/etc. overseas right now. That person next to you is constantly worrying about the person in the “sandbox”. They don’t know if they will ever see that person alive again. It is a heartache they have to carry for at least a year. They love that person dearly over in the Iraqi desert right now, and--chances are--they don’t want to hear your political opinions because it makes the pain worse. So, whatever you do, please be responsible about your opinions.

Alrighty then! LRH is finished, and fully posted, just in time for opening day! Thanks to all who took the time to comment, your input is appreciated! For my next trick, ( just kidding ) the next installment of the whole Shade 'verse is tentatively called "BLue Blood", and I am working on it already, some. A little. I did mention deer season, right?:blast: Anyway, I'm also working on another jayne centric fic, entitled The Last Spartan. Might post that one first, but I just don't know. Might need to give Shade and company a rest. Opinions? Always welcome, so don't be shy. Hope everyone is having a great day, and as always Happy Reading. Long Live Serenity!

A beautiful mind

In earnest, I think I'm beginning to develop a little crush on Jewel Staite. Usually I never care to know much about actors/actresses in real life. Primarily because they can, almost invariably, never live up to the character in the show you fell in love with. Film is grander than life, right? But when Jewel Staite began to publish her myspace blog, I subscribed to it all the same: she is, after all, Kaylee. And now I'm finding that I am even fonder of Jewel than I am of Kaylee! That seem right to you? Not that I don't like Kaylee. It's not a question of whether I like her... some of us have grown attached. But Jewel, I dunno; she's got a cuteness to her, and it ain't just her clumsiness with fire-arms. Odd thing is, I really got a crush on her beatiful heart and mind. Sure, I find Jewel pleasant enough to look at myself. Yes, because she's pretty. But the way she writes... it's just... wow! Funny, genuine, witty, smart, kind, and genuine; did I mention genuine? She's the real deal. WYSIWYG. And I just can't get past how friendly she is to her fans. Honestly, I do not think I've ever been so attracted to a person's mind, really, more than anything else. Her words are sexy, without being sexual. That make sense? Word of the Day: "spottie", NOUN. PRONUNCIATION: spä-tE. Contraction of "space" and "hottie". ETYMOLOGY: coined by Jewel Staite in her myspace blog.

F me upside down and sideways. Damn it. I can't get the amazingly hot image of a ruffled (top three buttons unfastened, shirt untucked, no suit jacket on - all that SKIN?!) Sean Maher out of my HEAD. And I can't, for the life of me, even THINK of Simon when looking at him. So that mental image is doing absolutely NOTHING for my muse. Pity me. I have no pictures. Yet. I'm sure if you search, you'll find some, though. The convention, however, was amazing. I'm shocked my own self. I'll have a report of it up at my LJ next week sometime.

Five Years Ago

Hi there, It's been five years since my last ear operation and too be honest not much has changed. My ear still gets infected easily and i still have to go to the outpatients department at Dryburn to get my ear cleaned. The only real difference is i have an extra scar which hurts on occasion and i keep getting a stiff neck. The operation was to clean out my ear, so the consultant drilled a hole in my skull to get to the cavity. Then she took some muscle out of my neck to fill said cavity to stop it clogging up again.
