in the absence of genuine firefly - we do the best we can welcome aboard my firefly - please wander through the blogs/rooms
The picaresque (Spanish: "picaresca", from "pícaro", for "rogue" or "rascal") is a popular subgenre of prose fiction which is usually satirical and depicts in realistic and often humorous detail the adventures of a roguish hero of low social class who lives by his or her wits in a corrupt society.
...................................... Mal’s eyebrows signalled their enquiry – even before he spoke. “Well Mr Feng, then perhaps you’d do me the kindness of explaining how you crash a low flying fast burning piece of merry gosa - smack into the ground here – and you aint dead?” Mal’s voice was deliberately bland. “Oh? well – it’s a swamp hereabouts.” “Right enough. A swamp. That it is. And I just know you’re gonna fill me in on how you crash a low flying fast burning piece of metal into a gas spewing, toxic and highly flammable swamp, without exploding?” Jefferson Feng’s smile was as broad as his arms were wide. “Ha! Well Sir, I’ve a large heart and full... of the love of the wide and bonny ’verse and just too plain kind intentioned to die so easy – or so dumb.” “I see.” said Mal. “Also..." Feng continued "I had him.” Feng gestured with a hankerchief towards the lowering figure of Jayne. “Well now Mal and that is the truth of it. I saw the ship crash – ‘tweren’t hard on figuring no survivors, lots of scav.” Mal nodded. “You got a story there too Jayne? – How you came to wade through a poisonous swamp full of gas and into and out of this man’s fiery abode.?” Feng chuckled. “No doubt Captain, like me, this man too has a generous big heart.” “Got big lungs.” Said Jayne simply. ................................... - about face:

As you probably haven't noticed I haven't posted a chapter in a while. This is for two reasons-one I've been swamped by essay's at the moment and two I've decided to finish the story before I post it. This will save further delays down the track and help me with editing and so on! It's been boring lately, not writing Firefly stuff-But I did have to write a sci-fi story for Lit class and managed to reference Firefly at least a dozen times. Yippee horray! Oh and I saw Jewel Staite in a Tv show called Dead Like Me that I borrowed from a friend. She was a goth that got turned on by the fact that one of the characters was Grim Reaper. They had sex in a record store storeroom. Quite hilarous. Keep on Flyin' ladies and menfolk!

It's 9.23 am on Saturday 25th August (I'm in the UK) and I've just realised something. I have been looking back over my uploads, and I've discovered that it is now a year since I began telling my version of Firefly tales. In that time I have written close to one million words (and counting) and killed a number of people! There’s also been a lot of fluff, some hard angst, and laughs aplenty (even if it is only from folk finding my grammar sometimes amusing). There's even been some sex! So here’s from me, to you, celebrating a year of the Maya ‘verse, and also to the next year … there’s lots more stories in my head, and if I don’t get them out it could explode. Which could be messy. And I'm not cleaning it up. :smokin:

Well thought it was about time i floated a wave out. Still working away at university trying to get me some learning. Not doing too bad so far got all my work up to date. Perhaps the best part of my studies is the course creative reading and writing. Why?. Simple for the course i am expected to do a lot of creative writing funny that. Also the course is giving me a pack of tips for bettering my writing so i may try and get another fanfic up. Next for my major portfolio of work at the end of the course i get to do a comic. The whole portfolio is 2500 words and of that i'll be putting in a ten page comic of the same style as Frank Miller's Sin City lots of black and white with a few key colours. In other news i've been getting out a fair amount lately with last night making the third week in a row. This is an all time record for me. Not too bad really alot of fun catching up with mates and having a laugh. More to the point it's provided me with a few ideas for my writing. Anyhow i'll stop boring everyone and let you get back to the black. Till next time.

I got my wisdom teeth removed today, along with a molar that served no purpose. I went in scared out of my mind, but the worst part was the sting of the needle they used to numb me, and I gagged on the spacer they used, to separate my jaw. They took it out and I just held my mouth open. Aside from the sting of the first needle, and the gagging, it was no problem! I don't even have serious pain to relieve!
