Arr Matey´s
Sunday, 23 July 2006 01:29:49

Just came home from a pirate movie day. We started of by watching Yellowbeard, then moved on with Cutthroat Island and Pirates of the Caribbean:Curse of the Black Pearl. After that we went to the cinema to watch Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Mans Chest before finally staggering back for Roman Polanskis; Pirates before going home. It great way to spend a afternoon but it will take ages before I get the pirate shanty from PotC:CotBP out of my head, so... Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirates life for me, mateys. And goodnight to ye all!

Serenity Day

Went to the Tampa Screening of the movie... The adventure went as follows: Had a map in hand and still got lost getting off on a toll road. I had the map in the backseat and when I saw Ext 77 pop up on the road I took it cause I couldn't grab the map in time but I remembered the directions said something about 77 on them. It was a toll road and I had very little change. Hope I didn't tick the lady off with giving her a bunch of sticky pennies. About 8 miles down I got to turn around. Looked at my map and it said 77 miles down not exit 77.... arrgh! Oh did I mention I'm in nearly all Zoë costume? I don't mind stopping for gas in costume. But stopping repeatedly for ATM, directions, and such was annoying. I got over it by the 3rd time in public. I didn't have the holster on yet so I didn't raise any panic signals. :) So after 2 hours on the road I arrived about 20 minutes late. Was greated by there cool organizers. Walked into the dark room and as I stood letting my eyes adjust I saw about 70-100 folk. What a glorious sight. Sat down in the dark room. Turns out I sat right next to my friend Dash, a Mal costumer. After the movie they gave out prizes and I met Ren for the first time. She won some heist money. Met Derelict Titan and a few others too. What a great group. Browncoats are so enjoyable. Everyone took pictures but I forgot my memory card so I didn't get any. :( This is your cue if you took pictures to send me some We talked about D*con, the boards, costumes, my latent crush on a pilot, popping your convention cherry, and just stuff. Felt like they were insta-best buds. Which...ya know browncoats are. Should have stayed longer and had dinner with everyone. But oh well. But that drive back didn't look peachy. Ren showed me the way back to I-4. _________________________________________________ In other news....anyone recognize this?

Second Chapter
Sunday, 23 July 2006 05:06:51

So the next part of my story is done. (Finally!) Took me forever to find the time to get it down. My beta testers are combing it now, though I still feel like soemthing's off every time I read it. Just wish I knew what it was. Oh, well, maybe one of my testers will point it out to me. Well, they pointed it out to me, and I must say I'm embaressed. This chapter wasn't nearly as good as it could be, so I'm reworking a lot of it. Which means it's going to be a bit longer before I post it. Sorry, but I promise it'll be worth it. Well, maybe not this chapter, but I will make it up to all of you at some point, I swear!

Now from Wyoming
Sunday, 23 July 2006 05:09:13

Done with Tech, round one of secondary degrees is finished. Now comes what is termed "real life", that segment where I'm supposed to climb my way up a corporation and settle down and become a community leader...blah blah blah...etc etc. Well so far I've managed to get as far from settling down as possible, landing in Evanston, WY, land of "fresh air, freedom and fun". Guess my lungs are expelling the pent up pollution i've gathered from Houston and Atlanta. I think I'll like my job at the natural gas plant, working for BP. The people at work are down to earth and have ideas that I can handle, like keeping the plant from blowing up and not worrying about a 3rd mortgage or whatever bastion of consumerism they are driving for. I'm looking forward to a simple life of working at the plant and them coming home to exercise and read, two things I can love. On the weekends there are nice roads to drive, which is always fun in my Miata. I feel like Mal, having come here mostly to escape inner city life, but I'm sure I'll miss the excitement of being in the big city. There's lots of open land here that I'll have to explore and it feels like a million miles away from the policies of the government. I just hope theres something worthwile to return to after I finish my rotation here.

Choo goes Camp...
Sunday, 23 July 2006 06:02:10

...ing. Yep i'm going camping for the next 10 days. Kind of in the middle of England area. Lots of rock climbing, canoeing, raft building (me = doing none of the above:disappointed: ) seeing the local area and going on all the rides at the local theme park. So no more FF, Serneity, or FFF.net for me :crap: BUT, seeing that i'm a helper this year, lots of screaming at kids. with lots of Jayne-isms hopefully  So yep, no more internet for 10 days. Have fun everyone

Yay Speed Channel!!
Sunday, 23 July 2006 23:43:37

I was watching the Speed Channel this morning for prerace coverage. Okay...it wasn't really watching. I was still half asleep. Anyway, they went to commercial and showed a segment called 'My First Car' when they talk to celebrites and ask them about...you guessed it...their first car. They had one with Jamie Foxx and I wasn't really caring. But then their next part is Laurence Fishburne and I really start caring because Gina is there with him. I sat up and said, "Look, it's Gina!" and of course my parents know who I'm talking about because I'm such an obsessor. I wasn't even paying attention to what Laurence said. I was just staring at Gina Torres...XD
