Newly Recruited Browncoat
Monday, 20 March 2006 02:43:23

My younger brother recently got me HOOKED on Firefly... I gotta say, this show is a work of pure genius... I only wish they hadn't
killed Shepherd Book in Serenity
, because that storyline would have been great to continue.

Why I like Firefly
Monday, 20 March 2006 03:02:20

Here is why I like firefly so friggen much Well I guess I will say that alot of stuff on TV sucks. Alot of things do nat grab my attention very much. Becasue I have really a brain that only likes certain certain things. So like Firefly you know, one day I was really boerd and had no money I think it was like X-mas. I got some money from my grandma and I went to walmart. Anyway I was looking around at the movies and then I saw Firefly and I was like well allright this looks allright I guess and then I thought about it and I went back and said. "I guess I will get this." So then I went home and I was like okay I guess I will put this in here and watch it. So I did and then I watched it for like a whole month. ANyway Why I like Fireflly so much is because it gives me hope. See I have made up stuff my whole life and I had this crazy idea that I was suppossed to make a tv show and everyone I know thought I was crazy. I mean I really really belive it. Anyway I watched firfly and thought Well If he did this, well then I bet I can do it too. Well anyway I know this sounds cornball but whenever I figure out how to get the ball roolling Mabye this will help Firefly come back. And mabye some other people will say the same thing I said, and then TV will become alot better

BSR flooded
Monday, 20 March 2006 03:07:14

If you've been to the Blue Sun Room lately you have seen the church signs that have flooded it lately. I'm going to rant about them. I'm a bit upset about unrelated things right now and logging into the BSR and seeing it filled with these was the straw that broke the camel's back. It may get a little bitchy so if you absolutely love them then don't read the rest of this. I admit that I was amused by the first couple but enough is enough. At least the motivational posters have some variation in appearance. These are all the same. Well close enough to. We're even repeating themes and/or quotes at this point. They don't require any imagination or skill and it irritates me. Isn't that what the BSR is for? If you absolutely must post some of them then please, one per person, per day. At most two. Please! I go to the BSR to look at new and interesting pictures and today I finds it more then half filled with posts that look nearly identical. And it seems that everyone has decided to do a half a dozen at a time and post them all at once. Why? Are they really that interesting? Please make it stop! Ok. I'm done now. Sorry if I upset anyone but you were warned. Everyone needs to vent now and then and this church sign thing is unacountably irritating to me.

Commentaries and stuff.
Monday, 20 March 2006 07:26:43

I'm not much for blogging, or recording any information at all (I just like to do art and make up stories.) However, this isn't made up. LadyKnight and I are very good friends, and being such, we have decided to make some commentaries on Firefly Episodes! (And I might eventually suggest that we do the movie too.) Thus far, the only one I'm (personally) satisfied with is Safe. What I'm planning to do in the near future is combine our commentaries with the shows themselves and make them publically available online - where is undecided as of yet. Also, as some might have caught on to, I'm planning on making the music videos that LadyKnight has been posting pictures for, once my computer is capable of running the programs I'm going to need to do so. (It took 12 hours for Premiere 7.0 to start up, and it lagged and gave me the Blue Screen of Death. v2.0 won't even install.) That being said, I shall bid you adieu for tonight.

Doing work for Moonlight Rising
Monday, 20 March 2006 07:34:20

Over at the AN thread, we're finally getting this card for Nathan done. I got around to writing the letter that'll go with it to inform all the gals what they need to do. Sent off a massive spam to a bunch of different sci-fi and fantasy clubs about MR. Seems that Aria is all sorts of pleased with what I'm doing. So much so that she's giving me some hints as to possible surprises for the upcoming con. I just hope this woman doesn't think I'm some sort of stalker. I'm not crazy, I swear. I fully appreciate the position that these fans and guests are in. I'm a cool, rational person usually. I'm reasonably intelligent. I think... She's asked if it was okay for her to come to our Shindig, so I must be coming across as fairly sane. I HAD planned on writing the article I'd like to submit to newspapers and radio stations (possibly even TV) but got distracted. In a very bad, bad nasty way. Tomorrow should be nicer. I HAVE to get that article written.

The Name Game
Monday, 20 March 2006 12:29:26

Whatever possessed Joss when he dubbed our mercenary "Jayne"? I've broached this subject before on several occasions, and I've come to a few realizations. If you notice, the name Jayne is actually an amalgam of J(OHN) (W)AYNE, and if you take into account that John Wayne himself was originally given a girl's name (Marion Morrison), I'm of the belief that it's a tribute to the Duke. There's also a supreme irony in the fact that the meaning of the name "Jane" (feminine version) is "gracious" or "merciful". I may be over-thinking the whole thing, but it's interesting all the same, no?

Feeling guilty
Monday, 20 March 2006 13:41:42

Hello fellow browncoats... I would like to issue a formal apology for posting a church sign.:crap: I will never do it again. ever. If i'd known how many were going to be posted over the rest of the weekend (and this morning) I wouldn't have done it. It's just not funny when a trend like this pushes mphillips work out of the recent items. So again... I'm sorry:crap:

Comics and a Man called Jayne
Monday, 20 March 2006 17:13:45

First I would like to thank (in no particular order) mal4prez, bookaddict, Lvs2read, and 2x2 for encouraging me to put pen to paper and get started on some fic. Now I know who to blame when I am up late trying to finish dialog. :banghead: But this weekend I finally got the comic series. So, what gives? Is it just me or does it seem too often writers go back to the old "enemy that we thought was dead but isn't" plot line? Not that it is a bad thing and it made it easy to prevent too much exposition, but it would be nice to have something different than standard revenge fare. Maybe I have just gotten tired of comics in general. NAAAWWWWW!!! I hope not. Although I must say my interest has gone down the last few years. Or maybe it is because my money flow has decreased. Who knows? I need to find me a sugar daddy to buy my shiny Firefly inspired goodies. I don't want to admit to it, as much as I hates it, but I have to fully admit I am a Jayne-addict. What is it about that man? Maybe it is because he is so atypical male that there is absolutely no way I could ever feel anything but feminine. AH, that would be the day. I guess once guys find out what I do for a living they kind of get scared. Or maybe it is because my friend and I like to brag that we know how to castrate things. I am thinking it is the latter. It's all good though. I still have my Captain and my merc. Rae

Megacon - Saturday Wrap Up (Suit Up And Ride Out)
Monday, 20 March 2006 23:58:10

So I woke up around 12 and got dressed as Zoë, an activity I always enjoy doing. Sure it's fun to dress up. But I even have fun in the actual dressing part. Wondering if the actors felt the same way. Or I just imagine I'm suiting up for a heist. Have I mentioned TV Zoë cannot possibly dress herself? Wash must help her with that buckle under the arm because that thing is hell to buckle by yourself. I leave my vest buckled and shimmy into it. Anyways.... When parking I spot my fellow Harry Potter fan friend 4 cars away, this wouldn't be that funny except that the same thing happened at FX a month ago. Finally arrived at the con and in the hallway to the con I see a Jayne in a very cunning hat. He looked good too, had the right build and all. We shouted compliments to each other across the way.... So I get in an greet my friend Chris, who is dressed as a Space Marine from ALIENS and his friend says to me "I think I love you." Awww icon_razz.gif We both agreed it was probably the costume. A few pictures later I meet up with my new friend Dash who is dressed as Mal. Then I see a girl I know dressed as Medical River and her guy is dressed as Simon. We pal around the con for an hour together when we decide to do a little photoshoot. We had: * Mal and Zoë face off * Simon comforts River * River defends Simon * River kicks Simon in the throat * Zoë comforts River * BDH poses * Uncomfortable Kiss with Mal and Zoë About 20 minutes of this and a guy dressed in a vest wanders by.... Mal says, "Is that Simon?" I look and say, "It could be. I have heard of accidental Simons before." Mal walks up to him and says "Simon?" Simon then says,"Yes..Mal?" I LOVE BROWNCOATS! So he joins us and we all take more pictures....and then another Mal comes along.... He raises his eyebrows and whips out his cell phone. Turns out he is the Mal that came with the Simon we found, Jayne, Kaylee, River, and Wash. He called them over. While we waited for them to find us I went to check on my guy running the Buffy game show. Mal came in 5 minutes later and told me they arrived. I walked out and then got the best compliment of the day... As I rounded the pillar Kaylee let out a gasp. That's when you know you did good job. So we stood around and having such a large group people finally came out in force and were like "It's THE FRICKIN FIREFLY CREW" and came over to talk and take pics. We talked to each other while not posing and Wash did the cutest thing.... He pulled out a protein bar and asked if anyone wanted any before he ate it. They were a seriously cool group of people. After about an hour we dispersed after trading emails.
