Well, now I'm pissed. Just as my life seems to be settling down this happens. What I hear you cry? Well, I can't go to any of the Serenity viewings. I may be overeacting but I believe this is a tale of woe and my god am I going to woe about it! OK. Many moons ago before the first Serenity convention in London not one but 2 special previews for convention attendees took place. Guess what, I couldn't go to them because of money worries and deadlines for my course. Gseat I thought, but at least it isn't finished so I am only missing out on half of something. Then the US had a zillion screenings, ok fair enough I can't even afford a flight so no hard-feelings about that one. Then the Edinburgh screenings and I couldn't afford the flights to Edinburgh - I live in the Netherlands by the way (The flights between the two are crazy prices). Then the London screenings - at last one I should be able to go to but wait, no! Ah yes, I have to work 3 days in August (all the others are optional) - THREE DAYS!!!! One of them is the day after the screening. There is no flight that will get me to work on time for that day! Now what has just happened? I find out that there is a screening less than an hour from my front door and I can't go. Why? My Dutch isn't good enough to use the browncoats.nl board so I can't get tickets to the exclusive Serenity screening in Amsterdam. I need an oven to swallow my head!

"I think all you need is a small taste of success, and you will find it suits you." Monique from Better Off Dead... Lady...I hope you're right! For those of you in the know, or at least, whoever looked at the tag this morning, the staff sergeant test results came out today. And..... The first name called out at the assembly was MINE! With a line number of 514 (they promoted 14,000 out of 30,000 eligible) I am the next Staff Sergeant in the Fuel Shop here at Pope! So, in one month I will no longer be a Staff Sergeant Select, but I will become a Staff Sergeant for the reals! I always wondered how much that fourth stripe weighed... And, for a little background...I joined the USAF in 1993, got out in 1997, rejoined in 2001, and this was my second test for Staff. In eight years total active duty service, I've only been eligible to be promoted twice...this would be the second. For the first time in a very long period...I can't stop smiling!

I finally got my drivers permit. I guess that means i'm not a kid anymore, no matter how much i wish i was. I think the reason i put it off so long was that i kinda wanted to remain a teenager a little while longer.( iknow, i'm 18, but teenager in the "i'm in high school" sense.) aslo, i gots a question: i'm in the process of writing a novel, and am thinking about posting it on my blog, but i'm not sure if that'd be a good idea. (with the theiving and whatnot) so adive would be apreciated. Witnessing the downfall of our Democracy... WIcked Lester(OR W.L. if you wish.)
