For those of you in the know, or at least, whoever looked at the tag this morning, the staff sergeant test results came out today. And.....
The first name called out at the assembly was MINE!
With a line number of 514 (they promoted 14,000 out of 30,000 eligible) I am the next Staff Sergeant in the Fuel Shop here at Pope!
So, in one month I will no longer be a Staff Sergeant Select, but I will become a Staff Sergeant for the reals!
I always wondered how much that fourth stripe weighed...
And, for a little background...I joined the USAF in 1993, got out in 1997, rejoined in 2001, and this was my second test for Staff. In eight years total active duty service, I've only been eligible to be promoted twice...this would be the second.
For the first time in a very long period...I can't stop smiling!
