So it's about time more people started seeing what I am seeing. I got my friend Matt to watch Serenity yesterday. He has already bought the DVD! He is on his way tomorrow after payday to get the Firefly episodes. It's a proud day for me and I hope he will be a loyal browncoat to help promote this wonderful world.

Today I saw "Objects in Space" again. Only a few days ago, I was raving about the grand act of selflessness of Simon, who was willing to give up everything for his helpless little sister. But does, in the end, not River do exactly the same? She's willing to go with the bounty hunter. and forsake all her sense of safety and protection, just so she can unburden her brother and the crew. A tear-jerker? Oh, I flowed me a river alright (pun intended). But tonight I found myself crying from so deep within; and then another time, as I realized why. Because I find myself so lacking in humanity. :( I find my soul weeping, as I know I have the keen ability to see Love, and recognize it for what it is, and, with it, the painful astuteness of knowing I am wanting in humanity. "Love seeketh not itself to please, Nor for itself hath any care, But for another gives its ease, And builds a heaven in hell's despair." River, I wish I were the human you are. I wish I were that noble, that selfless, that willing to sacrifice self. I am not even half that. Onboard the FireFly, I hear myself thinking: I'm an insect who dreamed he was a man and loved it. But now the dream is over. Xiao mei-mei, I could not even love you properly, even if you really were my little sister; how sad is that? :( Wo xiang mei er, mei xin, bian shitou.

It sure is. I have a dentist appointment today; unpleasant tooth-ache (is there any other kind, I wonder?). Eating hurts like, well, that special hell. :) Though it affords me a good -- albeit ostentatiously obvious -- excuse to bring River into it again, lol. It was a delightful scene in which she said that (is there any other kind, I wonder?). And they want to stick her in those nasty fanfics! *shudder* Also, I made the mistake of posting in the Fruity Oaty Bars thread. And now I cannot get that jingle out of my head, either! At any rate, I'm banking real money on that tooth-ache being gone tomorrow. If I'm wrong, you best shoot me now... Or, we could talk more. :)

Well, I'm here to make an announcement. Both Werzbowski and I have been absent from the world of Firefly fanfic for quite a while, despite our ongoing tales including the crew of Serenity, as well as our own original characters Soul and 'Ski, and the crews of Destiny and Pandora. You see, like a lot of fanfic writers, the BDM, as wonderful as it is, threw us for a loop, and turned our storylines into AU. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing, and many writers have continued their own stories as if the events of the BDM never occurred. However, for us, our muse's both decided to take vacations. So we were stuck with stories that we could no longer bring to their proper endings for the simple fact that we couldn't get the events of the BDM out of our heads! But try as we might, we just couldn't give up on Soul and Werzbowski, and their roles in the Firefly 'verse, so we came to a solution: re-introduce them both together, in a story that takes the events of the BDM and tells a new story beyond the movie. We just couldn’t let them go, and giving up writing about this ‘verse was not an option. So watch the Blue Sun room for a collaborative effort between Werzbowski and myself as Soul and ‘Ski return!

Oh, yes, my pretties I have purchased my tickets and will be meeting the wonderful actors of Firefly/Serenity... On 11 March 2006 at Grand Slam 2006... Nathan Fillion (yum! ), Summer Glau (yeah! ), and Morena Baccarin(who my son swindled a photo op out of my for..ah, crazy kid. ) Sigh...now to actually make it through LA trafic without getting lost or killed...LOL I'm not joking...I am directionally challenged...it is like a sickness with me...I couldn't even find my way in the town I was born in and lived in for more than 30 years. As to the getting killed thing...have you ever driven in California? I went to Anaheim from where I live...map quest said it was like two hours...well driving through LA on the highway caused it to be six freakin' hours! All that closed in together time with the husband nearly sent me stark raving made...you almost got to see us on the 11 o'clock news...Woman shoves husband out of moving car and driverless vehicle spins out of control...But I refrained myself. I don't care if I get lost now...I ain't driving with my husband ever...ever again. The man is a freakin' speed demon unless I want to get some where and then it is a freakin' sunday drive. He will not screw with my wonderful Firefly weekend. SID

The excitement, the sweaty palms, the insomnia!! And that’s all before you actually get to the convention… Once you get there however, it seems like everything will be ok, that the anticipation and the excitement may have been a little more in your head than anything else. Then you see them; the people that you’ve been waiting to see for the last 2 months, the people that made the show worth watching. It all comes flooding back tenfold!!! You’re suddenly a nervous as a schoolgirl just looking at these people! All the clever things that you had planned on saying with a slick smile are now a puddle on the floor of your brainpan. You suddenly find yourself in line along with a hundred other sweaty, heavy breathing nerds waiting for your chance to make a complete and utter fool of yourself for the single chance to get an autograph and a quick word in with that person of reverence. You get to the front of the line and say, “How’s it going?”… that went well, try to say something else, you think to yourself. You try again for your name, but nothing comes out! You’re now trapped in the fanboy mode. There is no chance of a graceful output once you’ve hit this point, so you just do the best you can and try to scoop up a few words from the thought puddle on the floor. Turn and take your picture, then walk away so the next person can have their turn… Ahh, to be a fanboy…:banghead: It’s not the life that most want, but for me it’s just the way that things go it seems. I went to the FX Show in Orlando this last weekend with three of my friends. My main reason for going was to get a few autographs from two of the characters from the TV show Firefly and movie Serenity (you may have guessed as this is a Firefly fan site...). It just so happened that two of my favorite characters from the show were there that day… Alan Tudyk and Summer Glau. Alan Tudyk is one of my favorite actors. I don’t think that he gets near the recognition that he deserves, but even so, he was one of the nicest guys… Even with my thought puddle visibly apparent, he was nice enough to carry on without me and sign my Firefly DVD box. I did get a couple of pictures though… it was great. Summer Glau was exceptional. She is one of the most beautiful women that I think I’ve ever seen. The grace she exudes and the ability to kick someone’s ass is just so friggin cool… lol. I, unfortunately, had the same reaction when it came time to her as I did when I went through Alan Tudyk’s line… The thought puddle was only intensified because I turn into a babbling idiot around girls still… don’t know why, just do. I did manage to get my name out and that I did enjoy her work, but it just wasn’t what I wanted to say. Perhaps the next time that we meet, I’ll have learned a bit more nerve. We all had our pictures taken with the stars and contemplated spending a few more dollars to get more, but I need to pay bills, so I decided that I got the ones that I really wanted and that no more were really needed. I got pictures of the guys with a few others… David Carradine looked like he was going to die just sitting there across from us… kinda creepy, like he had no emotion left to give. Also got the picture of Corin Nemic’s empty chair as we hadn’t been able to see him the whole day. Overall I’d say that it was a good day and that I got to see some of the people that have had some influence on my life of recent, and I was able to get pictures with them all, and even some others that were just a little funny. So in summary to this babbling blog, to be a fanboy is a sad existence. It shows that I really need to suck it up and stop acting like an idiot when I meet someone that I’ve really wanted to talk to is sitting two and a half feet away from me. It also shows me that I need to learn how to talk to women, because it’s just really sad that I just about have liquid brain leaking out of my ears from just trying to talk to one. Granted it was Summer Glau and I do tend to be better with some others, but I really wanted smooth Andy to be there… smooth Andy

I like watching Justice League and I came across something interesting. In Justice League, Season 5, Episode 7, Nathan Fillion is in it!!! He's the voice actor of a cowboy called "Vigilante'" and he weilds a nice pair of six-shooters. Very reminiscent of Firefly I thought.... Anyways heads up on that. Was good to hear his cowboy twang again...

And now for something completely different. As in my fourth Firefly music video, which focuses on Jayne. I was shooting for a look that matched the character - very abrupt, kind of goofy, lots of action. It's definitely different... much like Jayne. It's set to Born Too Slow by The Crystal Method and has footage from every episode, but heavy on Ariel. Two sizes 856x480 - 26.4MB WMV

Well, after countless attempts at contacting the cast/Joss by snail mail, I have nothing to show for it. All of it gets "returned to sender." So, I've pretty much given up on the postal system to talk to the cast. So, I'm pleading with you, begging all of you to enlighten me. Does anyone know the email addresses to any of the cast members or Joss? You would have my undying gratitude. You can email me at kieran121@hotmail.com. Well, here's hoping that I can, somehow, say hello to the beloved BDH's. Thanks much!
