Basically towards the end of last term (the last of my first year in uni) a house mate bought the Firefly box set, he'd never seen it, I'd never heard of it but it looked good so I watched it....I'm here now so I guess you can tell I liked it.
I found out there was a movie (which I had heard of but never saw) and I bought the box set and that on DVD and am now getting all my familly into it (my MUM (not a very TVey person) managed to cite an exmple of a young Simon Tam asking for a dedicated source box during a discussion about advancing internet technologies, my jaw nearly hit the floor!)
