America's oil industry in serious decline — thanks to Trump: WSJ

"Among the biggest U.S. oil companies, Exxon and Chevron shares have declined 11% and 18%, respectively. Oil-field services giant Schlumberger and its top rivals, Halliburton and Baker Hughes, have fallen between 21% and 23%. Those companies are bellwethers for activity in the U.S. oil patch," noted the WSJ report, written by Benoît Morenne, Collin Eaton and Andrew Mollica.
U.S. oil prices dropped 19 percent in April to $58.21 a barrel. This is the lowest level to which the prices have been in over four years.
Several economists expect that tariffs imposed by Trump will trigger a worldwide economic slowdown, leading to decreased demand for crude oil.
"Before Trump came into office, oil production in most U.S. crude regions was set to decline because of maturing fields and dwindling sweet spots. Oil executives expect Trump’s policies to accelerate this trend, including in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico, the largest oil field in the country," the report adds.

I didn't deny that the White House said this. They said it after the fake Amazon story was spread by the fake news outfits.
The false part of the story was the idea that Amazon was going to do this in the first place. Not only wasn't it going to do this, but it is not capable of doing this.

The Trump tariffs are decimating people’s wallets. I know just the thing to do.

Donald Trump’s tariffs are making consumer goods more expensive, and he doesn’t want anyone to know it. This week, he phoned Jeff Bezos in a tizzy, furious over a reported Amazon plan to show consumers how much of each product’s price owed to the new tariffs on imported goods. The site allegedly intended to print the figure alongside the list price in an attempt to absolve itself of responsibility for the inevitable price hikes.
After Trump’s call to Bezos, Amazon publicly denied the report, saying that the plan was meant only for its spinoff website Haul—a low-cost competitor to Shein and Temu—and, furthermore, was “never approved and not going to happen.” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a Tuesday briefing that if Amazon were to publicly list import charges on its goods, it would be a “hostile and political act.”
On this issue, Leavitt has a point. Explicitly tying the cost of goods to trade policy in a way that everyday people can understand is inherently political. And because it would reflect poorly on Trump, highlighting the burden he is placing on U.S. consumers, it would also be a de facto shot against his regime.

Lindsey Graham Asks Catholics to ‘Keep an Open Mind’ About Making Trump the Pope: ‘Has Many Upsides,’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) asked Catholics and the papal conclave to “keep an open mind” about the possibility of President Donald Trump becoming the next pope on Tuesday after Trump jokingly said he would “like to be pope” following Pope Francis’ death.
After a reporter asked Trump who he would like to see as the next pope, the president joked, “I’d like to be pope. That would be my number one choice. No, I don’t know, I have no preference.”
Reacting to Trump’s remarks, Graham suggested that a Pope Trump could have “many upsides.”
“I was excited to hear that President Trump is open to the idea of being the next Pope,” he wrote. “This would truly be a dark horse candidate, but I would ask the papal conclave and Catholic faithful to keep an open mind about this possibility!”
Graham continued,
“The first Pope-U.S. President combination has many upsides. Watching for white smoke . . . Trump MMXXVIII!”
Trump endorsed Graham for reelection in March, calling him “a wonderful friend” and promising supporters that the senator would not let them down.
“Lindsey has been a wonderful friend to me. He has always been there when I needed him,” wrote Trump. “Senator Lindsey Graham has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election – HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN.” (Lindsey altrasdy did by even thinking such.)
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attended Pope Francis’ funeral last week after the pontiff passed away at the age of 88.
Reacting on Truth Social to the news of Pope Francis’ death, Trump wrote,
“Rest in Peace Pope Francis! May God Bless him and all who loved him!”

I think Trump is losing his way in foreign policy. His peace effort in Ukraine is a charlie foxtrot. Trying to bully Russia into accepting a ceasefire plan that is, for them, existentially unacceptable was never going to work. If I predicted that in 2024, his advisors should have too. The only thing he's gotten out of it is an oil/ gas/ minerals deal that'll probably never generate a revenue stream before the war ends. And since most of the oil and gas is under Russian control, it's doubtful that will ever be accessible to America anyway. And it gives the impression of Trump frantically searching under the couch cushions for spare change.
Since it's doubtful this will EVER add to America's coffers, who is this really mesnt for? Blackrock?
It DOES tie Trump to Vladimir Zelensky's sinking ship, tho. I see no upside, andca lot of downside.
And why did Trump start bombing the Houthis, again? It's not as if we and the Saudis didn't spend years striking the Houthus with missiles before giving up.
And despite repeatedly saying he doesn't want war with Iran, and actually entering into negotiations with them which could result in a non-nuclear Iran, he's venting his frustration with the Houthis on Iran, threatening 100% blockade on any nation that buys Iranian oil. So not only is he derailing his own nonproliferation talks wuth Iran, he's pissing off Iran's trade partners.
WTF?
There are some nations and people you can't bully or threaten into compliance. "Maximm pressure" doesn't work if you have little leveraged, Trump should know that.
IDK who's advising him. Probably the same doofuses who advised Biden*.

1) These judges ruled against Trump. Then their families faced attacks
https://attentiontotheunseen.com/2025/05/02/these-judges-ruled-against
-trump-then-their-families-faced-attacks/
Boasberg and McConnell are among at least 11 federal judges whose families have faced threats of violence or harassment after they ruled against the new Trump administration, a Reuters investigation found.
When U.S. District Judge James Boasberg ruled in April that Trump administration officials could face criminal contempt charges for deporting migrants in defiance of a court order, the blowback was immediate.
The president’s supporters unleashed a wave of threats and menacing posts. And they didn’t just target the judge. Some attacked Boasberg’s brother. Others blasted his daughter. Some demanded the family’s arrest – or execution.
U.S. District Judge John McConnell’s family endured similar threats after he ruled that President Donald Trump overstepped his authority in freezing grants for education and other services. Far-right provocateur Laura Loomer tweeted a photo of the judge’s daughter, who had worked at the U.S. Education Department as a policy advisor, and accused McConnell of protecting her paycheck. Billionaire Elon Musk amplified the post to his 219 million X followers. Neither mentioned the daughter had left her job before Trump’s inauguration.
Loomer continued her attacks with nine more posts in the ensuing days – and more than 600 calls and emails flooded McConnell’s Rhode Island courthouse, including death threats and menacing messages taunting his family, according to a court clerk and another person familiar with the communications.

2) Ketanji Brown Jackson: It can take ‘raw courage to remain steadfast in doing what the law requires’
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/05/01/ketanji-brown-jackson-sharply
-condemns-trumps-attacks-on-judges-00323010
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson forcefully condemned attacks by President Donald Trump and his allies on judges who have blocked Trump administration policies, warning Thursday that the increasingly hostile rhetoric poses a dire threat to the country’s political fabric.
“The attacks are not random. They seem designed to intimidate those of us who serve in this critical capacity,” Jackson told a judges’ conference in Puerto Rico. “The threats and harassment are attacks on our democracy, on our system of government. And they ultimately risk undermining our Constitution and the rule of law.”
Though she did not mention Trump by name, Jackson said she was addressing “the elephant in the room,” a clear reference to the belligerent language — and calls for impeachment — that Trump and some of his advisers have lobbed at federal judges who rule against his agenda.
Jackson urged her judicial colleagues to show “raw courage” to dispense justice without fear of the results. “I urge you to keep going, keep doing what is right for our country, and I do believe that history will vindicate your service,” the Biden appointee said.
Jackson’s unusually pointed comments received a standing ovation from the judges and lawyers in attendance. Her 18-minute fulmination is the strongest public statement by any member of the Supreme Court since the Trump administration began denouncing judges who have blocked Trump’s policies on immigration, firing government workers, and halting federal grants and contracts.

Speaking during an interview on Fox News, Vance said on Thursday that President Donald Trump’s administration was working to “find some middle ground” to stop a conflict that has been raging for more than three years.
“It’s not going anywhere ... it’s not going to end any time soon,” Vance said.
His comments come shortly after the U.S. and Ukraine signed a long-awaited minerals deal, an agreement that Vance said showed the White House is making progress.
He later added that while he was “optimistic” of a breakthrough in peace talks, “it’s hard to say confident” because Russia and Ukraine will “have to take the final step.”
After months of tense negotiations, the U.S. and Ukraine on Wednesday signed an economic partnership that provides Washington with preferential access to some of Kyiv’s natural resources.
U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said the “historic” agreement would allow the two countries to invest together to accelerate Ukraine’s economic recovery and help to “facilitate the end of this cruel and senseless war.”
For its part, Ukraine said the partnership was capable of delivering success for both Washington and Kyiv.

Russia worries about a U.S. tilt toward Ukraine after minerals deal
By Catherine Belton | May 3, 2025

Concern is growing in Moscow that Russia could lose its edge in talks with the United States over the Ukraine war now that Kyiv has finally signed an economic partnership agreement giving Washington preferential access to future Ukrainian mineral deals.
Russian officials poured scorn on the agreement this week, with one senator, Alexei Pushkov saying it represented “another major step toward the colonization of Ukraine.” Alexei Chepa, deputy head of the parliament’s international affairs committee, echoed him, saying the deal had further increased Ukraine’s dependency on the U.S.

Don't Need An Executive Order To Bar Illegals From Social Security - We Need A Government That Obeys The Law
Saturday, May 03, 2025 - 08:40 AM
Authored by Maureen Steele via American Greatness,
In what universe does it make sense that the President of the United States has to sign an executive order to stop illegal aliens from receiving Social Security benefits? That’s not just an absurd headline—it’s a tragic indictment of how far this nation has strayed from the rule of law, common sense, and constitutional integrity.
Let’s get one thing straight: illegal immigrants are already barred from receiving Social Security benefits. Full stop. It’s enshrined in federal law, constitutional precedent, and the very fabric of what it means to be a sovereign nation. Yet here we are, once again watching a president step in with a pen to “reaffirm” what is already carved into stone.
Under Section 1611 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. § 1382c), individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States are categorically ineligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA) explicitly excludes most non-citizens from federal means-tested public benefits. And let’s not forget 8 U.S.C. § 1611, which states unequivocally, “Notwithstanding any other provision of law…an alien who is not a qualified alien…is not eligible for any Federal public benefit.”
Quote:
Translation: They’re already prohibited.
So why does Trump need to sign an executive order?
Because we are no longer a nation governed by laws—we are a nation governed by selective enforcement, political cowardice, and bureaucratic betrayal.
While illegals exploit the system through loopholes crafted by activist judges and globalist legislators, hardworking Americans who’ve paid into Social Security their entire lives are being told the well is running dry. They’re mocked with headlines about “entitlement reform” and threatened with benefit cuts, while watching their tax dollars fund services for people who have no legal right to be here.
Let me say this plainly: illegal aliens should not be here. That’s the real issue—not whether they’re tapping into Social Security.
The fact that we have to publicly debate whether to let foreign nationals steal from a system built by and for American workers is the very definition of national rot.
And let’s talk about Social Security itself.
The system is broken—not because of American retirees, but because of government theft, mismanagement, and legislative sleight of hand.
Congress has raided the trust fund, spent it on everything from foreign wars to gender studies in Pakistan, and now pretends it’s our fault there’s a shortfall. The average American would be better off putting that 6.2% payroll tax into a private investment fund and watching it grow rather than letting corrupt bureaucrats bleed it out into the black hole of government waste.
You know what would truly protect Social Security? Not just an executive order. Mass deportations. A sealed border. A total shutdown of the welfare pipeline that flows to non-citizens, non-contributors, and non-patriots.
That would protect American seniors. That would honor the American worker.
And to those who think we need “more laws” to fix this—stop it. We don’t need more laws. We need courage. We need leaders who enforce the laws already on the books. Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution guarantees every state in this union a republican form of government and protection against invasion. What do you call millions of illegal crossings per year if not an invasion?
This is not about compassion.
It’s about justice, sovereignty, and survival.
