The Matrix sequels did the same to the Matrix.
Anything Marvel has done in 5 years has devalued anything that came before it.
If any of these people had an ounce of talent, they'd be remaking movies that flopped instead of churning out constant sub-par reboots of classics.
People need to actively go out of their way to avoid watching trash, especially when it attached itself like a barnacle to something you loved.
Once you watch it, you can't unwatch it.

9th place looks like US cinema is finally dropping Joker 2, it seems Joker Folie à Deux is down to 1,200 theaters
almost beaten by older films like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Deadpool and Wolverine
did WB have agreements to keep it for as long as possible in US cinema costing theater money or any chance to have good profit?
if they brought TopGun remake Maverick back into cinema would it beat Joker part 2?

Variety finally picked up on this story. While filming, it was known that Joker 2 would be a failure. So why did filming continue? "We get paid the same for a piece of crap as for a cinematic classic. Why would we care that it is crap?" (This explains why most of Hollywood's output, going back to the silent movie era, has been crap.)

Quentin Tarantino humorously makes it perfectly clear this movie is a piece of crap:

Like I said... I probably will watch it for a laugh eventually.
Phillips will never be trusted in Hollywood again, but that was a pretty hilarious fuck you to the world on the investors' dime.
Todd Phillips was the real Joker all along.
ETA: I know that his Hangover movies were loved and broke records at the time they came out, but I thought they were mediocre when I got around to watching them. What Phillips did here to WB might just be the funniest thing he's ever done.
