I doubt either. People are craving a Gladiator sequel in 2024 just as much as they're craving a Twister sequel, and if Gladiator carried the same $200 Million price tag that Twisters did, they're just going to lose more money.

Nobody is mentioning the economy or the ridiculous budgets in these articles.
That's the same mistake that Democrats and the Legacy Media made for over a year when they denied that inflation was a problem until way after it was too late to do anything about it.
If they're not admitting the problems in print, I hope for their sake they are admitting the problems to themselves in private.

There will probably never be another movie like Avengers: Endgame, the 2019 film with a lead-up that wholly altered the movie industry and even the way stories are told. For over a decade, Marvel told one central story — Earth’s mightiest heroes working to defeat the great villain Thanos — through the MCU’s plethora of interlocking superhero blockbusters. In that era, each film, with its Easter eggs and credit scenes, built toward the culmination known as Endgame.
By signaling to its audience that all 23 movies mattered to the larger story, Marvel ensured each was a financial success, including a slew — Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Infinity War — of billion-dollar worldwide box offices. Marvel’s grand design made Endgame the second-biggest movie in history.
It’s not surprising that seemingly everyone in Hollywood tried to replicate this triumph, often at the expense of creative achievement. Studio heads hoped that they could grow and cash in on properties with extant popularity, the way Marvel had with its comic book characters, and began investing in sequels and spinoffs of proven IP. Marvel’s parent company Disney developed countless new Star Wars projects and capitalized on its hits like Frozen and Moana by lining up continuations of those stories. The company created Disney+ not just to sell its existing properties, but to house its avalanche of spinoff TV shows. Amazon’s take on Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings franchise and HBO’s interest in multiple Game of Thrones spinoffs could certainly be seen as trying to capture Marvel’s magic.
Across the board, the people in charge of the purse strings became less interested in original ideas, as well as in mid-budget films; it was blockbuster or… bust.
Marvel changed what kind of stories were being told, but also how they were being told. Competitors became convinced that audiences wanted a connected cinematic universe, a format that mirrored comic book structure. Warner Bros., which owns the rights to Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, tried its hand at creating the DC superhero universe. Universal also played with the idea, teasing a linked movie world featuring classic monsters like Dracula. Neither of those fully panned out — some movies were critical flops, others didn’t find large audiences — signaling how difficult it is to execute what Marvel had.
This tactic spread beyond the big studios too; indie darling A24, for example, has tapped into connected worlds and multiverses to tell expansive stories. Marvel’s other innovations have also lodged themselves firmly in the pop culture firmament. Easter eggs — embedding “secrets” into art — are commonplace today (see: Swift, Taylor), and foster fan loyalty. Post-credits scenes have been added to all kinds of films.
Perhaps the real testament to Endgame’s singularity, though, is that it wasn’t only rivals who were unable to replicate what Marvel was able to do. None of the studio’s post-Endgame movies have had pre-Endgame box office results, and Marvel is no longer an unstoppable force. The studio’s cinematic universe looks as vulnerable as ever.

The economy is not fine. After Democrats and the media told you there would be several rate cuts this year leading into the election, it looks now like they're going to raise rates again.

As of June 5th, Disney's market share in the Worldwide Box Office is 0.27%.
I don't even believe that's a fair statement, since that's not how I calculate movies by year. The $7 Million it has so far are from 650k tickets to see Wish late into its run, long after it was already known to be a huge box office flop.
Disney's true market share for 2024 so far is zero.
And even though I haven't put together any lists so far for the year, I'd say that Disney is doing better than almost every one of its peers by simply not playing.
Or at least that was the case until next weekend, when Inside Out 2 premiers.
Inside out had an insane budget for 2015 at $175 Million, but it came away with a worldwide box office of just over $850 Million.
There is zero chance it will replicate that level of success with the sequel in 2024.
If it cost $200 Million, it probably has a decent chance of breaking even if Disney learned their lessons and doesn't shove a bunch of Lefty messaging in it.
But I don't believe that Disney spent only $25 Million more on the sequel 9 years later, and I won't believe that Disney has learned anything until I see it.
This could potentially be the first interesting thing to happen to the 2024 box office all year. Almost none of the movies that have come out and flopped so far would have flopped on any other year besides 2020 when Democrats shut everything down for the sniffles.
I have no predictions at all for this one. I'm just looking forward to finally getting to see what the "new and improved" Disney can put out after a half year absence from the theater scene.

I already said congratulations to The Garfield Movie when it was obvious it wasn't going to flop, but I don't think I realized how big of a success it was going to be compared to almost everything else this year.
With its $60 Million price tag, it only needed $150 Million to break even. It's only been in theaters 19 days now, but it had already crossed that mark a while ago. It's now sitting at $195 Million and will cross $200 Million on Friday night.
It now sits at the 10th spot for the worldwide box office. It will claim the 9th spot from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire by Saturday night if it didn't already do that on Friday night.
It is the only US movie in the Top 10 that cost under $100 Million to make. I don't know what the budgets are for the Chinese movies, but I'm sure they're a lot less than that.

This is like the debate on bad song covers released as corporate entertainment compnay 'pop music' to consume but it all becomes a loss. Why remake film that is artistic rated, why remake anything that's rated 8/10 or above 75% rating

There have been LOTR remakes, the re-imagining the Rollerball remake, Jacob's Ladder remake, Grudge remake, Robin Hood remakes, The Jazz Singer remake, Pink Panther remake, Terminator remakes, Carrie remake, Ghost in the Shell remake, Oldboy remake, Conan the Barbarian remake, Swept Away remake, One missed Call remake, Red Dawn remake, The Fog remake, Total Recall remake, Robocop remake, Ghostbusters remakes, the Wicker man reboot or remake, Point Break remake, Annie remake, The Karate Kid remake, Charlies angels remake, Mulan remake, Blade remake, other Comicbook Superhero remakes Superman remake the Fantastic Four remakes, and now the Crow remake.
In the past they would make money back with blockbusters like comicbook 'Avengers' movies, every year would have a few big hits like Oppenheimer or Barbie for all studios, now the pickings slim.

The original movie had the physicality of Brandon Lee the son of Bruce Lee, he went on a stavation diet and used a fighting style that was more natural and less martial arts. The movie visuals, it had a visual Gothic look and music covers, included Nine Inch Nails and Rollins Band a band 'The Cure' also wrote the song "Burn" it had its own style like V for Vendetta it had a clear Good versus evil theme, it was a Halloween movie, Revenge or Vengeance
The Count of Monte Cristo, Ghost Rider, Taken films, it seemed like a Vampire at times like Dracula Untold, a religion and vigilante theme like Daredevil tv series, even making himself skinny and removing his combat training on the screen the acted role by Brandon Lee had a martial art physical and artist side to him. It looked fun, it had some humor despite its dark topic like 'Falling Down' moments of dark comedy, it was a supernatural movie a Gothic feel like Black Death or a show like Phantom of the Opera but with a modern atmosphere.
