Trump says he could tell Justice Department to indict political opponents if reelected
It's hilarious reading this and seeing you believe it when this is exactly what the Democratic Party has been doing to its political opponents for the last 7 years.
Did you hear that Eric Adams, the Democratic Mayor of New York just got his office raided by the FBI?
Funny coincidence, innit?
Coming right off the heels of Adams calling out the Biden* administration on the lax border and turning down their $1.4 Billion bribe to shut him up before the election.

Biden has requested $1.4 billion from Congress to help state and local governments provide shelter and services for migrants, after earlier pleas from Democratic mayors and governors.
Johnston and the other mayors say in their letter that more is needed, and they are asking for $5 billion.
“While we are greatly appreciative of the additional federal funding proposed, our city budgets and local taxpayers continue to bear the brunt of this ongoing federal crisis,” the letter says. “Cities have historically absorbed and integrated new migrants with success.”

You see what Biden*'s Administration does, Ted? The exact same thing you're claiming that Trump would do.
And yeah. I'm sure Eric Adams DID get campaign contributions from Turkey that they can nail him with. But the problem here is the uneven hand of justice. I'd be willing to wager that EVERY politician with any real power from either political side gets campaign contributions from foreign interests to one degree or another.
Eric Adams is bringing up a lot of unfortunate questions and making the media ask a lot of unfortunate questions only one year before the election. Worse for Biden*'s reelection chances is that Eric Adams is a black guy that they can't just gag via traditional means they gag white politicians with. Eric Adams has to go, so the Democrat Machine is going to go nuclear on one of its own to bring him down.

NY Magazine: The 2024 Polls Agree: Trump Has a Significant Lead Over Biden
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/the-2024-polls-agree-trump-has
-a-significant-lead-over-biden/ar-AA1jJqdR
Quote:
Based on two sets of polls from Bloomberg/Morning Consult and one each from the New York Times/Siena and from Emerson, it’s pretty clear Donald Trump has a lead over Joe Biden in the majority of key 2024 battleground states. Separate polling also shows him moving into a small lead in the national popular vote (which he lost by 2.1 percent in 2016 and 4.5 percent in 2020). Instead of arguing over the reliability of this or that poll or pollster, we can now begin to pay some attention to more reliable polling averages.
,
According to the RealClearPolitics averages, Trump leads Biden (in one-on-one matchups) by 3.7 percent in Arizona; by 5.5 percent in Georgia; by 1.0 percent in Michigan; by 4.0 percent in Nevada; and by 2.5 percent in Pennsylvania. Biden leads Trump by 0.7 percent in Wisconsin.
,
Bloomberg/Morning Consult’s latest battleground polls add in trial heats that include independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West. Even though Kennedy wins an average of 10 percent in these states, he barely affects the margins between the two major-party candidates, suggesting he is drawing support from them equally and/or from voters strongly alienated from both.
,
Meanwhile, polls of the national race show on average Trump now leading Biden by 1.1 percent (45.6 percent to 44.5 percent). Four-way polls with Kennedy and West listed as options give Trump an average lead of 2.7 percent (Trump: 39.2 percent; Biden: 36.5 percent; Kennedy: 15.3 percent; West: 3.8 percent).
What he doesn't mention in the article is that Biden* was leading Trump by 7 points in the aggregate, barely won it by 3 points in reality, and only won the battleground states he's polling terribly in by tens of thousands of votes in 2020.

How are those court cases going, Ted?
Not very well, I suspect, if your lying legacy Media is going to start scaremongering that the Trump administration is going to jail its political opponents while the Biden* administration has been doing just that since Joe* was inaugurated.

Trump Was So Upset by Jimmy Kimmel’s Jokes His White House Staff Asked Disney to Censor Him
Jimmy Kimmel goes through the many nicknames he has given Donny over the years to see what could have possibly gotten under his skin. The whole thing is especially hypocritical coming from someone who claims to be a bigly anti-censorship defender of free speech.

Why Is America So Vulnerable to Charlatans Like Trump?
Donald Trump is a confidence man and an unrepentant liar. Why do so many American support him?

Donald Trump convinced banks that he had assets worth ten, twenty, sometimes more than fifty times their real value as was revealed in court this week. The self-proclaimed “king of debt” then used his borrowed money to support a lifestyle that reinforced everybody’s belief that he was truly rich.
After American banks refused to lend Trump money, he and his good friend Jeffrey Epstein who hanged himself turned to Deutsche Bank and managed to extract over $2 billion from that institution with the help of William Broeksmit, Thomas Bowers, and Justin Kennedy.
Broeksmit hanged himself in 2014, leaving a suicide note and paperwork tying him to the bank’s unit accused of laundering some $10 billion of Russian oligarch money along with over $400 million in questionable loans to Trump.
As stories about Trump’s finances began hitting the media in 2019, Tom Bowers (55 years old), who signed off on Trump’s loans, also hanged himself.
Justin Kennedy (unknown why he didn't hang himself) worked for Deutsche Bank from 1998 to 2009 and, according to the Finance Editor of The New York Times, David Enrich as reported by The Guardian’s Julian Borger:
“Drawn to Trump’s risk-taking and glamour, he [Kennedy] became a Trump confidant, sitting with the real estate impresario at the US Open tennis or in Manhattan nightclubs, and chaperoning huge loans to finance Trump’s real estate spending sprees.”
Kennedy was also the son of US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy who, when apparently asked by Trump to resign to make room for Brett Kavanaugh, mysteriously complied and stepped away from one of the most powerful positions in America.
Without the help of these three men, Trump would almost certainly have ended up broke and destitute. He’d been sued thousands of times for nonpayment of his debts and was well known to New Yorkers as a hustler and scam artist with a long string of failed businesses behind him.
In fact, by the time of his bankruptcies in the 1990s he had squandered almost all the roughly half-billion dollars he inherited from his father and stole from his brother, nephews, and nieces (as Mary Trump will tell you) before being rescued by mobbed-up Russian oligarchs looking to launder ill-gotten gains via real estate.
— Trump ridiculed Obama for occasionally playing a round of golf, saying he’d be so busy as president that he’d never take that kind of time off. Instead, he billed you for over $135 million for the 250+ times he visited his own golf clubs.
— He said he’d increase economic growth by four percent, a number America hadn’t seen since the 1960s. Instead, like Herbert Hoover, he left office with fewer jobs than when he entered.
— He repeatedly promised an infrastructure plan: every week for months, it seemed, was “infrastructure week.” But it never happened.
— Trump promised to “fight for the dignity of women and mothers.” Instead he’s been convicted of raping E. Jean Caroll and more than 20 other women claim he did the same to them. And he brags about packing the Supreme Court to overturn abortion rights in America.
Any speech or press conference by Trump was filled with exaggerations and lies: over 30,000 of his falsehoods while in office were compiled into a book. Trump’s persistent lies have become so common that the media no longer reports on them.
Trump cheated on and lied to each of his three wives, lied on his taxes, lied to his bankers and insurance companies, and lied to the American people.
And yet, he’s still held in the tight embrace of Republicans nationwide. Why?
One theory is that the people who support him know he’s a liar and a fraud and don’t care, so long as he promises to hurt those they mutually hate: Black people, Hispanics, Muslims, the queer community

In honor of our great Veterans on Veteran's Day, we pledge to you that we will root out the Communists, Marxists, Fascists, and Radical Left Thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our Country, lie, steal, and cheat on Elections, and will do anything possible, whether legally or illegally, to destroy America, and the American Dream. Despite the hatred and anger of the Radical Left Lunatics who want to destroy our Country, we will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

He wasn't convicted of anything. He didn't lose any criminal trial. He (partially) lost a civil trial with a Clinton appointed judge and a packed anti-Trump jury who was given full anonymity.

As for your "rape" allegation, even the packed anti-Trump Leftist jury given full anonymity flat out said that Trump didn't rape Carroll:
Quote:
The jury reached a unanimous decision on May 9, after deliberating for less than three hours. Considering the preponderance of the evidence, the jury delivered a verdict that first stated that Carroll had not proven that Trump raped her, and next stated that Carroll did prove that Trump had sexually abused her, and also stated that Trump defamed Carroll with false statements made with actual malice in the October 2022 Truth Social post; thus the jury awarded Carroll a total of $5 million in damages from Trump

Based simply on this extreme lie we can throw out anything that Thom Hartmann has to say about Trump since he has zero integrity, and he continues to prove time and time again that he has no qualms about lying to and propagandizing his idiot base.

Quote:Trump’s lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, shook hands with Carroll and hugged her lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, after the verdict was announced. Outside the courthouse, he told reporters the jury’s rejection of the rape claim while finding Trump responsible for sexual abuse was “perplexing” and “strange. Part of me was obviously very happy that Donald Trump was not branded a rapist,” he said. What did Trump say? Trump, 76, denied it, saying he never encountered Carroll at the store and did not know her. The jury disbelieved Trump.

Yeah. I know what happened.
Apparently you do as well. That didn't stop you from posting Thom Hartmann's lie about it though, did it?
There's no proof that he ever met Carroll. The hand-picked Liberal jury under a Clinton appointed, Trump-hating judge made a decision to reward her with money. It was not a criminal case, and Trump is not a convicted rapist as liar Thom Hartmann just claimed he was, and you quoted.
If I were Trump, and if I were aware of Thom Hartmann putting it in print that I was a convicted rapist when it weren't true, I'd be dragging his ass into court right now for libel. Maybe when he has more free time Trump can have his lawyers show liar and libelist Thom Hartmann what rape really feels like.
Hope you got some KY jelly, Thom.

Anyhow... This will be appealed and overturned and Trump will not pay her a dime.

Wow, does he really have to ask? Or is this one of those "have you stopped beating your wife" questions?
Maybe because almost every politician is worse than a charlatan? They view the American people as pigs to be slaughtered for their own personal power? At least Trump pays lip service to America. Most politicians don't invoke the concept unless there's some bogeyman we're supposed to cough up money to fight.

Inside Mike Johnson’s Ties to a Far-Right Movement to Gut the Constitution
The new House speaker has longstanding ties to the evangelical inspired Convention of States cause.
As the interregnum without a speaker of the House came to an end last month, people from across the political spectrum came together, in a rare show of unity, to ask a single question: Who in the world is Mike Johnson? But one group of conservative evangelicals with a radical cause immediately recognized the new speaker’s name.
For the last 10 years, the “Convention of States” movement has sought to remake the Constitution and force a tea party vision of the framers’ intent upon America. This group wants to wholesale rewrite wide swaths of the U.S. Constitution in one fell swoop. In the process, they hope to do away with regulatory agencies like the FDA and the CDC, virtually eliminate the federal government’s ability to borrow money, and empower state legislatures to override federal law.
As far-fetched as this idea might sound, the movement is gaining traction — and now, it believes, it has a friend in the speaker of the House.
“Speaker Mike Johnson has long been a supporter of Convention of States,” Mark Meckler, co-founder of Convention of States Action (COSA), told me when I asked about Johnson’s ascension. “It shows that the conservative movement in America is united around COS and recognizes the need to rein in an out-of-control federal government which will never restrain itself.”
What is the Convention of States? Article V of the Constitution provides a never used path to revise the Constitution: If two-thirds of the states petition Congress, it must call a constitutional convention, where multiple amendments could be proposed at the same time. The Constitution does not specify how to select delegates from states to this convention, provides no limit on the scope of such a convention, and offers no guidance on how the convention would ratify these new amendments.
“A convention likely cannot be limited at all by Congress or the states,” Russ Feingold — legal professor, former Wisconsin senator and current president of the American Constitution Society — wrote with Peter Prindiville in The Constitution in Jeopardy.
According to the mainstream legal opinion, nothing prevents a “runaway convention” scenario. An Article V convention could rewrite any part of the Constitution — including the part that requires the approval of three-fourths of the states to change it. A second Constitutional convention could therefore become a repeat of the first: One that completely restructures the U.S. government, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights according to rules they could make up as they go along.
In August, COSA chose delegates from 49 states (Rhode Island, which skipped the 1787 convention, sat this one out as well) to convene in — where else? — the historical reenactment village of Colonial Williamsburg for a Convention of States simulation. After three days of debate, the delegates emerged with six proposed amendments that would, among other things, make it nearly impossible for the federal government to borrow money, tighten the commerce clause in a way that would eliminate most federal regulatory bodies, and insert a nullification clause that would allow a simple majority of state legislatures to overrule any federal law or regulation. Such amendments, if passed, would make it impossible to fund Social Security, eliminate agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Education, and make federal governance virtually impossible.
Pretending to pass Constitutional amendments in a building surrounded by people in colonial garb may sound like the punchline of a joke, but many experts do not find it funny. Anybody that can ignore this kind of training and work by the right is not learning the lessons of recent history.
