One thing westerners have a hard time understanding about Eastern Europe: for the last couple hundred of years there has not been literally a single generation of people in any country neighboring with Russia, that didn’t suffer from Russia’s actions in some way or another. None
Some nations survived genocides (yes, multiple times), some were just occupied and had puppet governments for decades. Many were deported, imprisoned, killed. Intellectual elites were cleansed or deported in the best case.
Ask people of Baltic nations, ask Poles, ask Czechs, ask Finns, ask Asian nations if ex-Soviet republic what they think of Russia overall.
They all, nations with different cultures, languages and religions will tell you: Russia means aggression, occupation, genocide, deportations, repressions, Russification, expropriation of culture, elimination of national memory, GULAG.
Ask Russians what they think of these countries, and they will tell you that Kazakhs, Moldovans, Ukrainians, Finns, Estonians, Lithuanians, Latvians, Poles, Czechs and many other are just Russophobes!
All Russia’s neighbors are just russophobes for no apparent reasons. Nazis!
Now, many people in the west often come up with an argument like “but it’s not all Russians! You can’t blame them all!”
Well, first, the vast majority of Russians do support the war of aggression in some form or another. Watch this, I assure you these people represent 90% of RU

But what’s even more important, the argument “but not all Russians”, especially when it comes from westerners resembles another really manipulative and ugly argument often used in discussion about violence against women, which sounds exactly like that: “but not all men!”
Sounds familiar yet, huh? But not all men rape women! Not all men are sexist! Not all men this, not all men that! But you would probably say that ok, but if you’re not vocal about this, you don’t really help, in fact you still play on the side of evil by choosing to stay aside.
If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of problem!
Now, there are millions or Russians living abroad in free democratic countries where nothing is threatening them for expressing their opinion. Can you show me at least one anti-war rally organized by Russians abroad?

There are many reasons for some Eastern European to be afraid of the Soviet Union. They had a long and difficult history. OTOH the Soviet Union benefitted Eastern European development. My g'ma only learned to read and write (in Polish) no thanks to the Polish government, but thanks to Russia. And in Hungary they set the serfs free.

I also think it funny you would compare people to flies. That's a very Putin attitude. He thinks very little of his own people. Sends them off to die in Ukraine because he wants more land.
And thirdly, no one, NO ONE, does lame @ss misinformation propaganda as often or as poorly as Russia. It's bad enough that they kill civilians trying to get away from war, but then make it worse by lying about it when it's so obvious they did it. Why do they bother? Why do you bother?

I think I'm seeing a pattern of Russian behavior. Russia attacks. Russia steals some land from Finland. Russia says Finland hates Russia. Russia blames Finland for Russia invading Finland. Russia is puzzled by how awful Finland's behavior is toward Russia. What did Russia ever do to deserve such abuse from Finland? Russia did nothing to deserve this! Until recently ... and I mean, the past few years ... Finns felt rather favorbaly towards Russia. It wasnt until constant anti-Russian propaganda that the attitude in Finland changed.
The reason for the favorable attitude was because Finland achieved independence from Sweden thanks to Russian rule, which made Finland an indepedent duchy under Tsar Alexaander of Russia leading to Finnish independence in 1917.
AFA Finland before WWII, it collaborated with Nazi Germany, a history that Finns prefer to forget. (Swedes also collaborated with Nazi Germany)
