Fuck you idiot. I've been warning you about this for years.

Uh-huh. And by "years", do you mean "the last six weeks since the Mid-terms". Judging by the dates on your posts.

I assume you planned to go back earlier and find older posts? Your point kinda falls flat without them.

Friendly suggestion: don't bother looking for them now, I'm not that interested.

Good article, and yes, one of the reasons I predicted the war would happen was Putin's two-decade track record of being OBSESSED with Ukraine. He's been trying to manipulate events there for years, and has watched Ukraine drift further and further away, as I've been pointing out to Sig.

He should have pocketed his gains (Crimea) and cut his losses (the rest of Ukraine) back in 2014. Or failing that, he shouldn't have drank his own Kool-Aid, as you Americans say, about his invading troops being greeted as liberators. But he did, and here we are. He's blown it, and the only question is how much more suffering he can inflict on Ukrainians and Russians in his losing cause. And how much longer his fanboys and fangirls in the West will shamelessly support him even though they're taking L after L after L.

Plenty of ethnic Russians and Russian speakers in these parts of Ukraine (isn't that the basis of this illegal ongoing war?). Anyway, the polling shows they are more and more strongly anti-Russia. From the Reuters article: "The poll showed that 57% of Ukraine's ethnic Russians and 85% of Russian-speaking ethnic Ukrainians opposed making territorial concessions to Moscow."

and skew your polling to focus on people who agree with you, especially since Kiev has canceled all political opposition

Now you're getting desperate. Kyiv cancelled pro-Russian parties in response to the invasion, yes. That doesn't stop ordinary people being surveyed about their feelings on Russia, which is what forms this poll.

By the way, here's a good graph that shows clearly what I'm talking about, and the opposite of what you're talking about re: Ukraine's "polarisation":

Now I happen to remember that election, and one of the things that Zelenskiy ran AND WON ON was that he was Russian-speaking from central Ukraine, and promised peace and unity with Russian-speaking Ukraine.

This is well known. Poroshenko, the previous president, was also the "peace and diplomacy with Russia" candidate, before getting elected. Have you considered that a Russian president who rejects Ukraine's nationhood and wants to absorb it into Russia might be the problem here?

You're just a paid political propagandist. Unlike THUGR, who mindlessly and enthusiastically supports whatever he's told to support, and SECOND, who spews incoherently, YOU are vey carful with insinuations and words. A real paid operative if there ever was one.

I will take the compliment, and ignore the febrile conspiracising that it's wrapped in. Much obliged, Sig.

I'm calling you a better liar than SECOND.

You think that's a compliment?

That says something about you, doesn't it?

I did not plan for that.

You were here for them. We've argued about it before. It's nothing that I haven't been saying since after the 2020 elections.

I have no interest in going back to find them either. Stick around for another two years so I can watch you cry about the outcome.

That is, if you don't lose the password to this account too. Don't upgrade your smartphone again until after November of 2024, mkay?

But I will take this as a concession that your last accusation of me was bullshit since you completely dropped it in this reply.

Look at that. I win again. Imagine that, huh?

I'm barely even paying attention to you now, Six, I certainly haven't been for the last two years.

Sure, by all means give yourself another "win" on your score chart of vanquished internet enemies.

Cool. Same to you buddy.

Do be a dear and stick around until December of 2024 so I can have a little fun rubbing all of this in your face though, won't you?

You mean Republicans winning the presidency again in 2024? Via electoral cheating?

I think Republicans stand a strong chance, even without cheating. Not sure it will be Trump though, and if it is, Republicans' chances go down.

Yes. But using the cheating apparatus that Democrats set up for them to exploit post-Covid in 2020.

I am serious. I don't want to see them do it, but in case you missed it with the media that you regularly consume, that's exactly what they seem to be embracing now instead of their previous claims that they want to close those loopholes. (As much as I dump on the terrible line-up of Democrats we've had in the last decade or so, I still hate Republicans, FYI).

This will not be good for any of us. I imagine the next step would be simply voting via smartphone as if we were watching American Idol. Elections would be meaningless by that point.

Maybe. Maybe not. I'm not defecting from Trump to "Trump Lite" with DeSantis though. I like what DeSantis did in his state during Covid, but his foreign policy statements lead me to believe he might be anther Bushite NeoCon in sheeps clothing. And our current leaders from both parties seem to want to drive us into what might end up being the largest war in the lives of anybody living under 80 years old.

There's a LONG time until election day. It's impossible to even make any predictions that mean anything for the next 1 1/2 years. Anybody claiming to do so in the media is just doing the regular old click-baity thing they need to do to survive. Especially in this economy.
