THGR, if the F-35 is so awesome, why does it need an upgrade?
The F-35 has a lot of awesomeness on its spec sheet. The problem is it fails to meet all of its specs. Problems include a radar-absorbing coating that bubbles and peels when it gets wet, mission data that takes HOURS to download, an engine that overheats and also overheats the entire plane, and limits on supersonic flight bc of coating and tail damage.
And it is EXTREMELY high maintenance. Because of its complexity, it our latest attack on Iran only appx 25% were fully mission-capable.
Quote:
Key Points and Summary – The F-35 program is under intense pressure due to severe problems with its critical Block 4 modernization.
-The new TR-3 hardware, the foundation for the upgrade, is late, meaning new jets delivered since 2023 have non-combat-ready software that has required pilots to reboot systems in flight.
-This software crisis is compounded by a long-standing hardware flaw: the jet literally overheats, reducing engine life.
-The U.S. Air Force is so frustrated with the delays and what one general called “pipedreams” that it has slashed its planned 2026 procurement of the fighter in half.

The Hidden Troubles of the F-35
• WASHINGTON — As the F-35 program inches its way through operational testing, the number of critical technical deficiencies is slowly dwindling, dropping from 11 critical deficiencies in January to seven in July.
However, the exact nature of these problems will remain unknown to the public, even when the deficiency itself is not classified. The F-35 Joint Program Office declined to characterize the fighter jet’s remaining seven critical deficiencies, but said in a statement that it has identified and tested fixes for each problem.
• WASHINGTON — The F-35 pilot who flew the two infamous supersonic missions that inflicted damage to the jet’s stealth coating and tail wants to set the record straight.

The first F-35 was delivered by Lockheed Martin on 2011.

A fighter jet program this old shouldn't still be chasing critical flaws. And saying the program is "troubled" understates monumentally.
EVERYBODY knows this, THGR. Everyone except ppl who have their heads buried in the sand.
Sheesh!!

C'mon, Sigs.
Let's talk about something more interesting, huh?
Let's see... What could we talk about instead?
Oh! I know!
What do you think about Second's new nickname?

What motivates Russians to continue voluntarily joining the army? July 10, 2026
The Kyiv Independent's Francis Farrell visits a prisoner-of-war camp in western Ukraine to speak directly with Russian POWs captured on the battlefield.
Through these firsthand interviews, the soldiers describe their backgrounds, how they were recruited, what motivated them to enlist, and how their view of Russia's war has changed over time.
These conversations were filmed and published with the full consent of the subjects, in keeping with international law.

If you know the right questions to ask, you can find pretty much anything on the internet. I'm making really good use of that AI now too. It's actually pretty helpful when you learn how it works by asking it specific questions about what it's doing when it's doing it. You can narrow down your searches to super crazy specifics. I was able to find a sketch to a 30 year old comedy show that I'd tried to find for years without ever having bothered to find and watch the entire run of the show, and finally with the help of Google AI, I was able to find it. Not only that, but since it was taken down off of YouTube, I was able to get Google to point me to a competitor's video website where the entire video was hosted, and it even started me at the point of the video where the sketch started.
Unbelievable.
In this instance, it turns out that "Poop" or "Poo" Golem has been a thing since the very early days of Dungeons and Dragons. A parody character. So when I looked it up on Google Images I found this picture and threw it in a meme generator to get the words on it.

I'm aware, as you probably are, that Golems are derived from Jewish Folklore, but my initial interaction with them was through role playing games which got their inspiration largely in the beginning from AD&D pen and paper and board games, and it was only many years later that I learned the true origins of the term.
If you missed the genesis of Shit Golem's new nickname, here ya go:

Why. Do. You. Care?
Or I guess the real question is either, why do you believe that you care? and/or, why do you pretend that you care?

Can you once, for just five fucking seconds do me the courtesy of pretending like you're a human being and just answer a fucking question?
Are you avoiding the question because you know you don't have any real answer to it?
Or maybe the answer lies in something much more sinister?
Jacks says... rubbing his palms together in malignant anticipation.
Maybe you won't face any real questions like this because you're not even aware that you've been programmed not to respond to them.
Your brain is cooked, brother.
There ain't no fixing you now.
You aren't human anymore. You are merely a golem.
I find that quite fascinating.
I never saw a golem made of shit before.
...
Yes. Yes... I do believe that is exactly what you are.
You're a Shit Golem.
It took almost a full decade, but I do believe you've just leveled up and finally earned yourself your new nickname, Second.

Wow, Ok. Think computer and then see if you can understand that upgrades are newer more advanced technology. The jet was designed to do this. It continually improves.
