My location for work is across the road from Wittman Field. Taking my Exit while throaty thunderous vintage prop warbirds are climbing in front of me, followed by sleek Learjets, I hope accidents don't result.

I might just sit in the car at work parking lot if I have spare time this week.

This is the All-Star Game, the Indy 500 for Air Traffic Controllers. They can only be volunteers, plus be nominated by their peers, and then be selected for the honor.

Each year I kinda forget, but because Wittman Field is the busiest Airport in the world, Formation Take-offs are actually commonplace instead of the exception.

3 or 4 birds taking off at once. They seem to make an effort to put similar birds together, even when not having the same paint scheme. But I have seen vintage warbirds taking off along with Cessnas.

For those of you near military bases, this may not be such a big deal. But those are generally military birds, and of active vintage of birds.
So these are almost always privately owned and operated - not to mention retired models, and taking off with more than one bird at a time is almost always prohibited, so this must be such a thrill for these pilots.
All week long, I have been assuming every pilot has a huge grin on their mug, and most of us on the ground also had the same.
