I just popped in to say that if Ted is right and JSF is one of Kiki's sockuppets, I'm truly enjoying the show.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

As for neuro issues, like ADD/ADHD, PDD (funny you should mention that since I never did), autism, ODD, bipolar etc and even acquired problems like lead poisoning, I also never posted anything about giving anyone drugs. So, once again why you seem to be 'replying' to something I never posted is a mystery to me.

I feel deeply sorry for those children. Life will be difficult, full of stress and frustration and very little reward. We need to try and figure out the causes of their maladies (which, except for lead exposure which is a known, * I * think might be due to the overabundance of chemicals like neonicotinoids in the environment) and reduce them to prevent this from happening as much as possible in future generations. Right?

When I think about my classmates in grade school, I can mentally point to kids who might have had distinct neuro problems, such as ODD, ADD/ADHD, PDD, and so on. Back then they were called 'bad', and/ or 'slow' with no further distinction made, and treated like what they were doing was a choice they were making ... which could be remedied with sufficient punishment. (Side note - but it's like what's been said about other children-related topics - if it was a choice, they would have rather skipped the punishments and chosen to be better.) So, my recollections are that neuro problems aren't a new thing, they've been there all along at some level.

During the intervening many decades, I've come to know many very young children who were lead-poisoned, bi-polar, autistic, ADD/ADHD etc. They were children of friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. And I've seen how those children behave irl even at a very early age and it's distinctive - not within my general range of 'normal' from 50 or so years ago. These problems showed up EARLY between 2-6 years old - way before they were taking illicit drugs!

And I want to point out that autism in general has exploded as a problem in recent decades (two coworkers of the next 1.5 generation younger than me have autistic children diagnosed young; 2 coworkers and 1 neighbor have children diagnosed as bi-polar), so there looks to be an actual change in what's happening to children over the years in general.

So no, given my own observations of children then and now, and how extreme behavior and neurological diagnoses have multiplied over the decades, I don't credit your statement that OF COURSE people who have mental disorders brought it on themselves by doing drugs as adults.

BTW, I'm curious if you have much past and recent experience with young children.

Yup. I saw that in the other thread.

Kiki does that a lot. Conveniently forgets anything she said or anything you've said when it suit her and her Mask agenda.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Ye, I DID post PDD!

I should have been more rigorous in my editing than trying to be thoughtful in my reply. Because apparently NEITHER of you can rub enough neurons together to spark any actual ... yanno ... thoughts on the topic.

Well, haters gotta' hate, and that's what your posts are about. Which is why I'm putting you on 'ignore'.

I found it curious that you didn't list dyslexia or OCD, although you didn't pretend to give a full list.

Many of these "ailments" have been universally recognized as "sugar" or "caffeine" or "chocolate" in kids.

And then along with ODD, ADD/ADHD, PDD, autism you throw in lead poisoning, bipolar, to conflate the concepts. Why not throw in Down's Syndrome?

Almost 20,000 prescriptions for the antipsychotic risperidone (generic of Risperdal), quetiapine (generic of Seroquel) and other antipsychotic drugs were written in 2014 for children two and younger, a 50% jump from 13,000 just one year before, according to the prescription data company IMS Health. Prescriptions for the antidepressant fluoxetine (generic of Prozac) rose 23% in one year for that age group, to about 83,000.[20]

Yep, turn them into zombied Reavers before they turn 2, great plan Chief. Then you have and excuse to call them "bipolar" at "treat" them with even better drugs, more expensive to pad the Big Pharma payrolls.

I get the sense that kiki would love to give a cat catnip, and then use that as an excuse to force sedatives on the cat, such as ketamine or hemlock.
