Obviously. That is the whole point of abusing drugs - to get your up. Then when you go down, you want to get another up, hence addiction.

Abuse of illicit drugs does not benefit Big Pharma. So now they fabricated other terms besides drug addict, such as the slang term bipolar - which is what you get from drug abuse. Then Big Pharma can sell stuff to these "bipolar" folk. Best way to treat drug addicts is with more drugs.

And if enough drug are consumed, resulting in the known results, we can say they have "AIDS" - and then treat with even more drugs. Until they die. Then we can say they died from something, such as "AIDS" instead of "drugs"

I believe I may be older than you, so I might have a bit more personal knowledge of 'back then' than you do.

When I think about my classmates in grade school, I can mentally point to kids who might have had distinct neuro problems, such as ODD, ADD/ADHD, PDD, and so on. Back then they were called 'bad', and/ or 'slow' with no further distinction made, and treated like what they were doing was a choice they were making ... which could be remedied with sufficient punishment. (Side note - but it's like what's been said about other children-related topics - if it was a choice, they would have rather skipped the punishments and chosen to be better.) So, my recollections are that neuro problems aren't a new thing, they've been there all along at some level.

During the intervening many decades, I've come to know many very young children who were lead-poisoned, bi-polar, autistic, ADD/ADHD etc. They were children of friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. And I've seen how those children behave irl even at a very early age and it's distinctive - not within my general range of 'normal' from 50 or so years ago. These problems showed up EARLY between 2-6 years old - way before they were taking illicit drugs!

And I want to point out that autism in general has exploded as a problem in recent decades (two coworkers of the next 1.5 generation younger than me have autistic children diagnosed young; 2 coworkers and 1 neighbor have children diagnosed as bi-polar), so there looks to be an actual change in what's happening to children over the years in general.

So no, given my own observations of children then and now, and how extreme behavior and neurological diagnoses have multiplied over the decades, I don't credit your statement that OF COURSE people who have mental disorders brought it on themselves by doing drugs as adults.

BTW, I'm curious if you have much past and recent experience with young children.

By all means, the solution to all problems is to medicate all children. If we need to proclaim that they have some "bipolar" disorder as an excuse to indoctrinate them into a schedule of drug acceleration, then it must be so. Then after getting enough drugs into their developing minds, maybe they can have some real problems, which can be solved with MORE DRUGS! Or maybe they can just kill people instead.

I never mentioned HIV/ AIDS - did I? Why you seem to be 'replying' to something I never posted is a mystery to me.

As for neuro issues, like ADD/ADHD, PDD (funny you should mention that since I never did), autism, ODD, bipolar etc and even acquired problems like lead poisoning, I also never posted anything about giving anyone drugs. So, once again why you seem to be 'replying' to something I never posted is a mystery to me.

I feel deeply sorry for those children. Life will be difficult, full of stress and frustration and very little reward. We need to try and figure out the causes of their maladies (which, except for lead exposure which is a known, * I * think might be due to the overabundance of chemicals like neonicotinoids in the environment) and reduce them to prevent this from happening as much as possible in future generations. Right?
