FFS, SW is now a dumpster fire.
But Dr Who died worse, imo.
INT. TEMPLE OF MORTIS - NIGHT
Kylo feels the very thing that destroyed Anakin. But doesn't make him feel weak.
He looks at Rey's outstretched hand...and TAKES IT.
THE LIVING FORCE FLOWS BACK INTO HER.
Both light and dark swirl within Rey as Kylo is reduced to an empty shell. A man without power. A frightened boy.
Kylo and Rey collapse into one another, each propping the other up on their knees.
Rey is close to him now. Their foreheads touching.
He is weakened, spent. In the last moments of his life.
KYLO: Solana.
Rey is stunned to hear her name. Distant, like a memory.
KYLO: Your name. (last breath) Rey Solana.
Those words are Ben Solo's last.
Rey watches the light dim in his eyes. But it is the light.
REY: Goodbye Ben.
With a look that could be perceived as love, BEN SOLO DIES.
Rey releases her hold. Collapses. Barely alive herself.
They've fought to the death.

Ouch...
Monday night's take: $33,836. $86 per theater at only 393 theaters.
I'm calling it now. It's official.
Joker pulled in more at the box office than a freaking main Star Wars movie.
lol
The YouTube nerds should have fun with that one for a few days once one of them finally realize what has just happened here.

The movie A Hidden Life ends with this quote which proves it is nothing like Joker:
“...for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.”
- George Eliot

Downloading movies to watch them is so 2010.
It will also get you nasty letters from your cable company in 2020 too.
TRAP!

Quote:There is no trap, 6ix. You are confusing bittorrenting with downloading. I've gotten a hundred nasty emails (Notice of Action under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act) from Comcast over the last five years about bittorrenting, but they are never going to cut off my service. On the other hand, I've never gotten anything about downloading, such as the movie A Hidden Life. There is no trap, other than FOX Search Light, the film's distributor, will eventually ask mega.nz to delete the file for A Hidden Life. mega.nz will then do just that and the movie will no longer be available. It takes about 5 minutes to get the movie.

If you don't have a better option, just get KODI man. Insane amount of content on there and you're just streaming it to your device like YouTube so there never is a "download" unless you choose to specifically download it.
Not that I watch much these days, but I don't think I've torrented or even downloaded any movies or TV shows since 2012 at least. $40 bucks and 10 minutes of your time is all it takes. $25 if you catch a device on sale. Plenty of YT videos on how to do it, but look for a recent one since they're always updating it and making it better/easier. Back when I first did it, it was a huge pain but now it's so easy my grandma could do it.
Then you're not limited to watching it on your computer, and you don't have to put it on network storage to stream it to your TV either.

Quote:I can use google chromecast to send the movie to the TV from the computer. I also have a skystream, but I am a caveman who likes to keep a digital copy of every movie and TV show I have watched. Someday I might want to watch it a "second" time. I shall never watch The Rise of Skywalker, again. What a stupid movie. I wish Disney had made Duel of the Fates. It is a tragedy it was not filmed as big as there not being a sequel to Serenity.

When Disney remakes Star Wars 9 (and you know they will like they did with Mary Poppins or Cinderella or Little Mermaid or Alice in Wonderland or . . .) I hope they use the script for Duel of the Fates rather than The Rise of Skywalker.

Hey... if that's the way you wanna do it and it works, whatever floats your boat man. Storage is cheap these days. I hope you have it backed up. I lost all of mine years ago, but then I realized I probably never wanted to watch any of it again, and thanks to piracy and the internet if I ever did it won't break the bank like it once did. (Remember the days when a season of the Sopranos or X-Files selling for $125 on DVD?)
I don't blame you for not being worried about downloading it either. They put the kibosh on those crackdowns years ago. TPTB don't want things like that making people afraid of the internet, because it's better for TPTB if everyone is on it as much as possible. When is the last time you even heard the acronyms RIAA or MPAA in the news?
Still though, for me, I'd rather just stream anything on the rare occasion I actually want to see something Hollywood puts out. Why tempt fate, I figure.
If they ever figure out a way to completely disallow watching something without paying for it, I won't be sad that I didn't hoard it all when I had the chance (something that ruled my thinking back in the heyday of Napster). The price is right at FREE. If they want to charge me to watch or listen to anything, I'll take a hard pass. Plenty on YouTube I find to be infinitely more entertaining anyhow.

I imagine that they will reboot the entire thing before I die. 10 or 20 years from now probably. I wonder if they'll start with Episode 1 or go out of chronological order again. How much will be re-written? Will the casting make any sense at all?

DISNEY just pulls a rabbit out of it's ass...
Magically, Rise of Skywalker just made $4 Million overnight, even though the US Box Office on Monday night was only $33,000+.
Total Worldwide Gross:1,073,718,318
Now it's just shy of taking over Joker's Box Office by around $25,000, which it will easily double in the US alone on Deal Tuesday.
Liars and con artists.
Somebody at Disney read my thread here and decided to "correct" this by using some shady international numbers that nobody is ever going to be able to disprove.
I should have kept that to myself and laughed after it happened.
It still loses by around $220 Million after the production budget. Likely double that when marketing budgets are included.
Oh well... Sorry, Joaquin.

Yup... something really fishy is going on here...
Now the total Worldwide Gross has been "downgraded" to only $1,072,696,82.
And that now includes the $45k+ it made in the states on Deal Tuesday.
Just yesterday, without Deal Tuesday figured in, the WWGross was $1,073,718,318.... a whole $1 Million more than they're showing today.
With these "revised" numbers, Episode 9 is now $1,046,509 behind Joker's final take (not including what it made Wednesday night).
But who knows what's really going on here and if the numbers will change for no reason again?
I'm not even sure if there is any way that you could tell what countries it's still playing in outside of the US anymore. The only two that have reported any numbers since 2/29 was the UK on 3/4 and New Zealand on 3/2. It's quite possible that outside of the US the UK and New Zealand are the only other places still showing it.
Most other countries "stopped" reporting on 2/22 or earlier, leading me to believe that none of them are even showing it anymore.
France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and South Korea are the countries that last reported on Saturday, the 29th of February. This could mean that they reported their final week ending Thursday the 27th, or that they're still showing this week. Maybe a mix of both.
Internationally, it hasn't done very well... so any countries still showing it probably won't be adding much to the totals (significantly less than the already poor showings this week so far in the US, I would imagine).
So if no more "magic" happens, $1 Million would still be quite a hurdle to overcome with less than 400 theaters showing it, and Deal Tuesday surprising me by not even clearing $50,000.
Unless I'm wrong about international takes not leading to much anymore, Episode 9 would likely need another 4 to 6 weeks in the theaters to beat Joker, depending on how many theaters are showing it and how poorly it fares against the new competition.
