As I mentioned in another thread, climate feedback loops will drive future climate warming long after we've ceased putting greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Not that I think we're going to stop adding more greenhouse gases any time soon, since there are far too many vested interests for rational thought to be persuasive.
The current studies indicate we're still 1degC away from invoking these feedback loops. In the meantime, more evidence exists of global damage that's already happened.

1) Methane release from melting permafrost
2) Carbon dioxide release from drying, carbon-rich soils that were previously swampy
3) Carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide release from forest fires
4) Re-release of previously-absorbed carbon dioxide from warming oceans
The only one that we haven't triggered yet AFAIK is
5) Release of methane from ocean-floor clathrates

I try to be accepting of the future, even if it's a dire future that nobody wants. If we're too stupid to ensure our own survival, then we'll die. I regret all of the other species that'll be wiped out, but there will be no people to look back and shake a finger at us, no god to tsk-tsk, and most likely no future intelligent species to puzzle out why we did what we did. Our story will be as if it had never been.
