BTW, I just wanted to point out that the Germans before Hitler were literally starving in the streets. Their situation was life or death, and they were desperate. 'Hyperinflation' is the blandest cover-up for the reality.
DESPITE that, Hitler didn't rise to power on a wave of uncritical assent, or even preoccupied indifference.
He had SS secret police spying everywhere, and death squads executing his rivals and opponents: sometimes in big flamboyant Mafia-style hits, other times executing entire families quietly in the dark streets after dragging them out of bed, still other times shivving people in prison after having them falsely arrested.
We'll never know how many of those saluting Germans were behind him, and how many were going along, or else.
So, please - don't bring up that Trump is going to be another Hitler, unless you're going to go ALL the way there.

It's funny. I hear people online, almost exclusively Democrats, saying for quite some time we're headed for a civil war. I'm hearing that more now, particularly if Trump gets re-elected in 2020.
But then I go outside and I see people. Men and women. White, Black, Mexican, Asian, other...
It's not as if everybody is giving each other the stink eye all the time.
Only 2% of the nation on any given night is paying attention at all to the news. Nobody bothered tuning in to the Mueller testimony.
Nobody gives a shit.
There will be no civil war.
Just like there was no Russia. Just like 2012 wasn't the end of the world. Just like Y2K amounted to nothing.
Just a bunch of sky-is-falling chucklefuckery online by people who watch way too much MSM and don't pay enough attention to their own lives and things they have power to change.
I largely tuned out of the online thing during most of Obama's presidency. Bitching online constantly about GWB for 5 years wore me out. Here it is, 2019, and as a nation we survived both of them. I'm sure we'll survive Trump too. And whatever asshole comes after him too... yada yada yada.

National Cathedral On Trump's Racist Comments: 'Have We No Decency?'
Leaders of the Washington National Cathedral have joined the voices denouncing President Donald Trump for attacking Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) and labeling his majority-black district a “rodent infested mess.”
The cathedral released a statement on Tuesday from Revs. Mariann Edgar Budde, Randolph Marshall Hollerith and Kelly Brown Douglas calling Trump’s comments “dangerous” and “more than a ‘dog-whistle.’”
“When such violent dehumanizing words come from the President of the United States, they are a clarion call, and give cover, to white supremacists who consider people of color a sub-human ‘infestation’ in America,” the statement reads. “They serve as a call to action from those people to keep America great by ridding it of such infestation. Violent words lead to violent actions.”

Criticizing the messenger for pointing out the VERY evident problems of poverty, lack of good education, lack of opportunity, lack of community, lack of good housing, AND LACK OF PROGRESS is how the dems give away votes.
I don't agree with everything Trump tweets, and I disagree with his approach ...
