Every now and again I wonder.... what's for dinner at YOUR house?
Two days ago, we had bbq spare ribs, pan-fried potatoes, and cooked cabbage/onion. Ribs ... such a luxury. I was explaining to dear daughter that if I buy 3 pounds of ribs at $3/lb (=$9) and I only get 1/2 pound of usable meat from it, that's $18/lb. Which is why we eat ribs only once every 2-3 years. If that. But dayam they are good!
The next day, we had leftover soup (What my mom would have called "garbage soup")- leftover turkey bones and pickings to make broth, then celery, onion, carrot, bay .... leftover potatoes, leftover beet greens, leftover cherry tomatoes, leftover cabbage, leftover spinach ... a bit of this, a bit of that, and yuba (soy) noodles to boost the protein, a shake of oregano and a good grinding of black pepper and dayam! Was that good too!
Today, no time to cook, I guess its sandwiches.
