Really there isn't a story here. This was after he was elected, and the allegation is that he's setting up a secret communication channel with Putin. I mean, if he wants, Trump can just join VK. Srsly, he could sign on to IRC, play minecraft, whatever. There are a million ways to meet Putin online. But you need to work on your "connections" because they're all kinds of vague. Using you're logic, one could prove that I actually am Putin.

Report: Russia tried to infiltrate Trump campaign through advisers
Moscow attempted to infiltrate President Trump's 2016 campaign by using his advisers, CNN reported on Friday.
U.S. officials told the news network that the Russian government attempted to use advisers, including Carter Page, in their strategy to infiltrate Trump's political team during the campaign season.
The officials underscored that they were not aware of whether Page knew that he was communicating with Russian intelligence officials given the manner in which Russian operatives operate.
