Wherever possible there must be independent confirmation of the facts.
Encourage substantive debate on the evidence by knowledgeable proponents of all points of view.
Arguments from authority carry little weight (in science there are no "authorities").
Spin more than one hypothesis - don't simply run with the first idea that caught your fancy.
Try not to get overly attached to a hypothesis just because it's yours.
Quantify, wherever possible.
If there is a chain of argument every link in the chain must work.
Occam's razor - if there are two hypotheses that explain the data equally well choose the simpler.
Ask whether the hypothesis can, at least in principle, be falsified (shown to be false by some unambiguous test). In other words, it is testable? Can others duplicate the experiment and get the same result?

As true today as when I started this thread and now with Biden and a renewed relationship with our allies, the shit is going to hit the fan.

Just responding to your title:
SO WHAT?
Russia can't "upend" anything if we don't let them.
That means that we have clean and auditable elections, and robust discussion of the issues under the banner of freedom of speech.
If you depend on censorhip and propaganda and mob rule to "enforce" your "democracy" then YOU HAVE JUST UPENDED IT YOURSELF.
It's like WISHY wanting to impose a Reign of Terror and kill 99.999% of the people on the globe, all in the name of "freedom" ... it's kind of self-contradictory, wouldn't you say?

Once again, RF has no ON TOPIC response. Because ...
... RF is an idiot. It's that simple.
And btw, RF, if you EVER happen to accidentally stumble into an OP response, I'll address your post OP. Until then, you get what you dish out.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Yanno, I kind of look at REAVERBOT'S libel as points on my scoreboard. Every time he has to resort to "Russian troll" because he (literally) has no on-point rebuttal*, I feel I've made a particulary solid argument.
And when he has to add a cartoon?
BONUS POINTS!
So, thanks for the points, REAVERBOT!
AND the bump!
* Also, a perfect example of someone who wants to upend democracy, because he relies on (attempted) intimidation to impose his POV, not logical fact-based argument exercised under the protections of free speech.
