WANT SOME CHEESE?

PART I:
If you were stranded on a deserted island (I TOLD you it was cheesy!), and was allowed only 1 Firefly regular cast member to accompany you, who would it be?? Now, before you choose the hottest actor or actress, keep in mind that the object is SURVIVAL. Consider your own survival instincts before you look at the characters. Who would compliment your abilities best? Who could you get along with on a 24, 7 basis? Let's have fun with this!

Someone who can be a team Player, in whatever position is required of them.
Someone who has the skills needed.
Someone who isn't a danger in their own right.

Hmm. That pretty much leaves Book.

For Pleasure..
Definately Kaylee.
No offense to Inara or River, but IMO, Kaylee's by far the prettiest.

Fairly certain I could keep myself & a friend alive & in fair shape for a while at least, so I wouldn't be terribly concerned about WHO they were.
As long as they were smart enough to make the right choices and "Lead, Follow or Get out of the way"

Hope I'm not too late, today being 7/9 and so still within the time limit. I guess for SURVIVAL I'd have to vote Zoe (Mal a very close second) due to the life experience in tough situations. She beats Mal 'cause she's more careful and thinks things through. As for PLEASURE, I'd pick River. Besides being (soooo) beautiful, it would be something new to learn for her (I'm purely speculating :) and we all know she wants to learn. Hope that last one didn't sound too rude, wasn't my intention. Keep flying!

hm...I'm thinking Kaylee for survival, as she's a quick thinker and seems pretty easy going, very my style. Not too girlie so we'd have plenty to talk about (though if there is only one strawberry left on the island...well, I think I can take her).

To heck with survival? Mal. Bit of a twisted sense of humor but definately he has his heart in the right place. Seems like a good storyteller when you get him going, and if he was stuck on an island with me, eventually he'd start talkin'. (I'd say Wash but all he would do is talk about how much he missed Zoe...)

Wow ... I totally missed this poll, 'mom!!

Survival -- Zoe! She's stronger than me, but I just made it through my advanced modern dance class without trying to collapse, which is pretty good for darn near 47 and overweight. (Teacher complimented me--AND I even did 7 push ups when I only could do 3 last time I was there!! go me!) We could be a kick-ass Amazon team -- that is, once I burned off some of this excess tummy and got my buff back. Book is a close second - man seems to know something about everything -- plus, he's a pleasure runner up.

Pleasure -- Book would be good for conversation and such, we could have tremendous spiritual conversations. Simon too -- us bright nerdy types should stick together -- plus he is also young and tasty to view! Inara would be great company, too...But in the end, I think it would be Wash, for the humor. He could be a 1-man show. And, if he can please Zoe, why should I complain?

Ideally, I'd take them as a team. The Zoe-Wash survival/pleasure show. But she wouldn't share him...

Geez, I'm gonna have to go with River for both (did someone say 'SPECIAL?').

She can go a mite kooky amid the cacophony of consciousnesses (a little alliteration), mind you. But on the island, she'd have only my twisty, culs-de-sac-rich mellon for static, and would thus be apt to be rather calmer.

She's a suuuuperrrr geeeeniuuuus, which really comes in handy for all the survival-improvised-infrastructure-type stuff. Plus, with the mind-reading and possible future-sensing, she'd be dandy for keeping in touch in potentially dodgy situations (i.e., she could be on hand to rescue my sorry pi-gu when I found myself in the inevitable scrapes with the reaver...um..REAPER). The ultra-warrior thing might also come in handy, should predators or pirates or somesuch rear their ugly heads (or head their ugly rears, as the case may be).

As for pleasure, I'd like to think that I'm sufficiently evolved that really fascinating conversation and possibly, you know, jacks would tide me over till she'd got a couple more laps round the sun behind her. I may be a bastard, but I'm not a...you know. That said, she is a little bit of loverly...

Well, seeing as I am most definately not a healthy person, and would die without access to a pharmacy, it would have to be Simon. Maybe he could figure out a way to make insulin and T3/T4 out of indigenous animal life or something.

I misread the poll at first, I thought you said 'cast member', not 'crew member' and was fixing to be ...non-plussed...but after some contemplation and going against my standard response of "It's all about Mal!" I have made a discovery.

For Survival: Zoe, because she is the most cool under stress and makes intelligent plans. She'd take charge and have me hauling water and chopping wood in no time.

For Pleasure: Harder to fathom...if in this fantasy world I am not only stranded with one of Serenity's crew but young and single, then most definitely Inara. Inhibitions be damned, she could teach any one of us a thing or two about a good time. (If I am my current self, then it would still have to be Zoe because I think she and I would become fast friends, commiserate about the separation from our rather goofy husbands, and tell funny stories about Captains we have known.)

As far as survival goes, I almost picked Mal, but I'm going to have to go with River, with the brilliant brain. She'd have had Gillian and company off that island before they could have unpacked Ginger's luggage (who takes that much stuff on a three hour tour?).

Hello, Mal-licious and Elwoodmom. Sorry about the vanishing act, but I've been running around like mad this summer trying to get things done. Also, when I do manage to get over here, most of the topics I either have nothing to add or anything I was going to say has already been said.

As for the poll, I had to pick River for "survival" 'cause I'm not so much interested in surviving ON the island as getting the hell off it. Sorry. But we should have a Mal-licious-type poll, like who's your favorite captian on Firefly. Mal could compete against the guy in Bushwhacked and the guy on the Dortmunder!
