Well, I guess we'll see what he actually does as President soon enough.
I watched the D.C. concert earlier tonight. Not ashamed to say I got a little choked-up and misty-eyed when Lee Greenwood sang "I'm Proud To Be An American" in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Damn! I hate it when that happens.

See, this is what I TRULY HATE about Baby Boomers. They suck at the teats in every form in SSI and Medicare and Unemployment, Senior citizen discounts, pensions, and for years and years had REAL health insurance then y'all bitch and moan and whine about Millenials and snowflakes, but BOOMERS want to take it all away AFTER there's nothing left. Seems the boomers are the REAL dicks here, don't it? Who made an entire LIVING on ENTITLEMENT???
My grandma is loaded, but has been complaining for years about her Social Security not going up.... she gets free money and COMPLAINS about it.
Millenials have lower pay, no job security, fewer jobs they will have to pay more in education costs to get, higher costs all across the board, and THEN you want to take away any retirement too??
No reason to stay in this damn country anymore except we're too poor to leave.
ALL the Boomer hypocrites!

Wait, that's what I'M DOING!
That "van" I bought was a cargo van. I've already put in carpet, another seat, insulated it with foil bubble wrap and denim in the doors, and built a mobile kitchen for plugging up in RV parks. Got siding to put up and a few custom built ins to do, too. It already had a breaker box and overhead a/c and outlets in it. We plan to buy a small trailer for our stuff, so we've put a hitch on it. I looked at "class B" motor homes and figured I could buy a cargo van and outfit it myself for a third of the price. Not to mention, police never even look at the work vans, and it is a "simple stupid" design and they are almost guaranteed to get 250,000 miles...
Ours only had 25,000 miles on it, so hopefully we'll be running this thing for a decade or two (it was a rental until the bumper got scratched (can of black rubber spray paint fixed that!)... It's nice to have for a runabout too, without getting into the larger sizes...

You are so completely out of your mind on this, I'm hoping you're just putting on an act, and kidding.
No one w/ the brain activity of toast should think that seniors ,after a freaking life time of putting into a system, deserve the same as brats just out of college.
And Grams isn't getting " free money ", it belongs to either her or her husband's labor, which the govt took, and is now giving it back, but only pennies on the dollar.
Like it even matters. As I said, her $ was wasted long ago anyways... the entire system was and is doomed to failure, no matter what % of the population chips in. It's a freaking Ponzi scheme !!
We were sold a giant con, when SSI was first introduced. And we've been lied to ever since.
Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen
I'm just a red pill guy in a room full of blue pill addicts.

THIS IS WHAT YOU SAID.
The Boomers get it and then, according to YOU it should be stopped.
I don't think so, Tim.
Now, you wanna do a better job of figuring out who actually NEEDS IT, fine.
You try to stop it totally NOW, you really will see the next civil war.
(My mother, who is a Boomer, just filed for hers, btw. She hasn't heard anything four months later, but she's filed for it. She is on the young end of the Boomers)

WHO has been eating moldy bread??? I think that's you.
(Moldy bread has a neurotoxin in it, btw)
I never even IMPLIED college kids get Social Security...
I said Boomers take and take and when it comes time for others it's "screw them."
Boomers lived during the most profitable times in American history. All my generation got is recession after recession after pyramid scheme after mismanagement. FROM BOOMERS. They take when they don't need and will leave nothing behind.

Wish - you're just not getting it. SSI is a freaking bad idea. Stop blaming the ' boomers ' for a problem THEY didn't create. They, like the rest of us, have ALL been lied to.
Seriously. Knock it off. You're sounding like a dick.

The Pyramid scheme that is SSI started in 1935 when FDR signed it into law. Taxes were first collected for it in 1937, and they were only taxed 2% of the first $3,000 of income.
The current tax rate for social security is 6.2% for the employer and 6.2% for the employee, or 12.4% total. The current rate for Medicare is 1.45% for the employer and 1.45% for the employee, or 2.9% total.
So today we pay nearly 8 times as much of our payroll taxes to keep this afloat and it's only 80 years old. At that rate of tax increase, in order to keep Social Security going until the year 2097, Americans would be paying 120% of their income.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

WRONG. They knew when I was a kid that SSI would run out and they haven't done a damn thing to change it. Boomers have been running the country for the last 25 YEARS.
And I STILL don't see you arguing the "I should get SSI, but then it should stop thing."
Tells me a LOT. You want your toys but don't wanna share!

This was pretty much just a solution to many problems. We couldn't go camping because I need an actual mattress. We also had to have electricity for hubby's breathing machine, and I had to have somewhere to cook. The last three hotels we stayed in (even though they had mostly good reviews were NASTY) Not to mention coming up with money to go to an attraction and gas and somewhere to sleep and paying people to watch our dog ...was just too much. And for the first time in EVER we have two whole weeks of vacation coming, so yay.
Just hoping we don't end up like my dad, the first time he took a trailer out west they hit high winds and rolled the whole works. Worst vacation they ever had. It would be my luck...
