I did notice this morning that one of the Republican women attacking Hillary took $850,000 to break off her highly-principled-and-in-no-way-connected-to-either-money-or-politics attack on Bill Clinton. In April 1998, the case was dismissed by Republican Judge Susan Webber Wright as lacking legal merit. On appeal, in the midst of his trial for impeachment based on his testimony in the Jones case, Clinton was faced with the prospect of having to go under oath again and testify more about his sexual history. Instead, Clinton agreed to an out-of-court settlement, paying Jones and her lawyers $850,000 to drop the suit.
SO, FIRST OF ALL, IT WASN'T "TRUMP MONEY". You should apologize to Paula Jones, and Trump, and all of other women victims that you insinuated were somehow paid off by Trump. You're such a bitch, SECOND; didja know that? Your ethics are being warped by your bias.
And in a further development in the case
Quote:
In April 1999, Judge Wright found Clinton in civil contempt of court for misleading testimony in the Jones case. She ordered Clinton to pay $1,202 to the court and an additional $90,000 to Jones's lawyers for expenses incurred, far less than the $496,000 that the lawyers originally requested.
Wright then referred Clinton's conduct to the Arkansas Bar for disciplinary action, and on January 19, 2001, the day before Clinton left the office of president, he entered into an agreement with the Arkansas Bar and Independent Counsel Robert Ray under which Clinton was stripped of his license to practice law in Arkansas for a period of five years. His fine was paid from a fund raised for his legal expenses.
So Bill Clinton was found in contempt of court for providing misleading evidence (He could have been charged with perjury instead, which means he got a break.), FINED, and temporarily disbarred.
I see that some of these "fact checking" websites http://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-presidential-debate-fact-check/2016
/10/bill-clinton-paula-jones-settlement-fine-229460 claim that Bill Clinton was "not fined", he "settled" the case. But the reality is, BOTH happened, and in addition he was disbarred

I think it's time you disabused yourself of that pleasant little fairy tale about our fearless leaders being some sort of surrogate daddy or mommy, laying awake at night thinking about how to protect the kids. HA! In reality, they're thinking about who to sell them to so that they can get a few more shekels in their pockets.

You are right about me being mean spirited. You are wrong about my target. It is not women as my target. It is Republicans. There are woman-Republicans, so it does get confusing who I am shooting at.
Well, there is the source of your error, right there.
You are so biased you can't even tell where that little story that you tell yourself about the "good guys" and "bad guys" departs from reality.
You don't do yourself, or anyone else, any favors by being religious (ie believing, not asking questions) about your view of the world. Yes, Republicans are quite often evil. But somewhere in since Jimmy Carter, Democrats have parted ways with representing the little guy.
Oh, they'll do things like support gay marriage, but if it INTERFERES WITH GETTING DONATIONS FROM THE WEALTHY, they'll fade like a newspaper in the sun. That's been Obama's mantra since he was elected, which is why we have the nightmare that is Obamacare.
Seriously, the guy had a fucking mandate, a Democratic Congress, and a historic moment, and he totally bobbled his once-in-a-century oppty. What a loser.

Well, now THAT was relevant! Not.
Interestingly, when you bring a pigeon within sight of something it really wants (seed) and something it's afraid of (cat) it will often do irrelevant things, like turn circles or preen its feathers.
Hillary is a WAR CANDIDATE, and that's just what we need, right? More war?

Who are you afraid Hillary is going to start a war with?

Billy Bush
Wrong. But I'm going to put this in the predictions thread because you're trying to look clever but you're just looking stupid.
Let me just point out that the author left out vital relevant facts in the opinion piece. Doing that is known as cherry-picking. And whether you do that in the news, in discussion, in debate or in opinion, when you distort the facts, you've changed the nature of your communication into propaganda. But WE don't have any of THAT in the US, do we?!

Quote:I think we need more irrelevance. Something similar to tattooing Trump on forehead while wearing Firefly tee-shirt.

I was glad to see Frem dismiss that as the rest of us have.
Actually, he didn't dismiss it. What he said pretty much paraphrased what I've been saying - that Hillary is so damn stupid (no lessons learned from Iraq, Libya, Ukraine or Syria! and completely deaf to Putin's warnings) that she'll keep on provoking Russia until she stumbles us into WWIII. God forbid you should understand or honestly portray anything at all.

Not half as close as you think, but damn closer than is comfortable, sure.
Neither side actually wants such a confrontation, so it's all mostly dick-waving and puffed up threats, by people too damn stupid to know how fast that can go badly wrong - obviously they've not read a lot of David Drakes work...
