The New York Times has yet another interview with Donald Trump, foreign policy genius. Let's listen in:
Mr. Trump even called into question whether, as president, he would automatically extend the security guarantees that give the 28 members of NATO the assurance that the full force of the United States military has their back.
For example, asked about Russia’s threatening activities that have unnerved the small Baltic States that are the most recent entrants into NATO, Mr. Trump said that if Russia attacked them, he would decide whether to come to their aid only after reviewing whether those nations “have fulfilled their obligations to us.”
Vladimir Putin will be delighted to hear this.

Trump's campaign manager immediately stepped in to say the Times had botched its quotes and Trump didn't really say this stuff about NATO. Manafort says NYT misquoted Trump on defending NATO allies and respecting existing agreements.

NBC legal analyst, Lisa Bloom, makes a compelling argument as to why the MSM should not ignore the recent child rape case filed by “Jane Doe” against Donald Trump.
Jane Doe reports she was raped more than once by Donald Trump when she was 13 years old. The entire piece is worth a read because it cites other rape cases filed against Trump (link below).
However, in this diary I want to focus on the recent Jane Doe case because, as Bloom points out: “It is exceedingly rare for a sexual assault victim to have a witness.”

In relation to why the media is avoiding this story, Lisa Bloom is fair handed. But I don’t think the MSM deserves a fair shake. In my opinion, the media wants to keep Trump viable to create a high-tension, general election horse race and anything that threatens Trump’s viability is ignored.
Lastly, since Trump was a pal of convicted child rapist Jeffrey Epstein, it's not a stretch to think Trump is one too. Like my dearly departed Mom used to say, “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.”
Do I believe Jane Doe and Tiffany Doe are telling the truth? Absolutely — yes.

I was listening on the radio on my way home from work to Cruz and his obdurate refusal to endorse Trump. SECOND, you have such a grotch against Cruz, doesn't it say anything to you that the person you hate so much hates Trump? I mean, if you can judge a person by their friends, can't you judge them by their enemies as well?

All this mental activity about "why Trump". No, it's not racism and not it's not authoritarianism. The reason why people are supporting Trump is the same reason why people were supporting Sanders: People are pissed off, and rightly so. They feel - again, rightly so- that the economy is rigged, that they've been betrayed by the political establishment of both parties, and that politics is rigged. They're 100% correct. Right now, anyone who even smells of establishment isn't going to get their vote, and the more outrageous Trump is, the more he proves his dis-establishmentarianism. (Wow, 50 years time since THAT word came up!) People are SO pissed, they'll vote for a pig in a poke over Hillary.
Yanno, the sad thing is, the Democratic Party could have had this in the bag with Sanders. Instead, the Central Committee chose to go with someone who can't even offer the appearance of being halfway honest and somewhat uncorrupted: They decided to run THE most unpopular, corrupt, unsympathetic candidate available, which was Hillary. What is this- some sort of consolation prize for Hillary? Globalists getting their candidate on the ticket? Promises of, or payback for, Hillary fundraising for Dem candidates? Whatever the hell was behind that ridiculous decision, that must have been some backroom deal!

My "hatred" of Ted Cruz is based upon his demand that Obamacare be eliminated. And his shutdown of the government in 2013. And his multi-trillion dollar tax breaks for the wealthy. Ted and Trump are on the same page, except Trump didn't shutdown anything and Ted is not an enormous liar. Ted and Trump are in conflict because Ted also wants the Presidency. If Trump loses and Ted supported him, Ted will never be President. By opposing Trump now, Ted increases his own chances of being President.

While the "rigged" system, as you say, protects the little people and their little amount of wealth, it also protects almost as effectively the wealthiest people. The wealthy have only a slight disadvantage: the inheritance tax, which is only paid by the wealthy and only after you're dead. All your complaining about the system being "rigged" is just complaints about protecting the wealth of people who don't have much. People with a hundred or a thousand times more wealth than ordinary people get, almost but not quite, a hundred or a thousand times more protection for their wealth.
Is it necessary to say if you have no wealth, the "rigged" system gives you no protection? Americans seem to think that is just fine so long as it is not them getting no protection. It is only those "other" Americans without wealth that should go without protection.
Trump is NOT going to fix that. He has figured out better than the people who dream he is their savior how the "rigged" system can work to his advantage.

Mark Cuban, former Trump supporter, on what he thinks of the guy now:

I see that Peter Thiel will be speaking tonight at Trump’s rally. He is another multi-billionaire made in the same mold as Trump. “Make sure our government puts American citizens first!” In actuality, that is exactly how the system works with the people having the most wealth being at the head of the line. Wealth is also how middle class Americans locate their position-in-the-queue way back at the tail end of the line. They just can’t seem to understand that the system middle class Americans created for themselves at the back of the line is how the system will work all the way to the front of the line where Trump and Thiel are.
Obviously, if you know nothing about Thiel or Trump but what they tell you about themselves, you will love Thiel and Trump for all the wonders they promise you.

Here he is speaking not just of NATO but of the general American practice of forming security alliances with foreign countries — a practice he seems to think should be replaced by an imperial regime in which America extorts cash tribute from countries under our thumb:

Macy’s ... would discontinue its Donald Trump line of menswear in response to his comments. Macy’s had carried the clothing line since 2004, and Trump had appeared in television advertisements for the store.
“We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico,” the store said. “Macy’s is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion.”

I heard part of Trump's speech on my way home, and as I got in the door.
With a few exceptions, I agreed with much of Trump's sentiments:
End ridiculous wars
Refuse to sign bad trade deals
Bring manufacturing back to the USA
Stop allowing the USA to be the dumping grounds of the disaffected
Trump is a nationalist.
It's very clear - from his speeches in any case- that he intends to place AMERICAN interests first, not the interests of banks, and international businesses, the Balts, Israel, Mexico, or China.
