There coud be a good outkum.

Seeing that this extreemly lucrativ franchize iz at risk, they hire a better team to continue the trilojy.

Or, they proseed to make 2 with the same guyz and it bomz, then Cameron gets angry and showz them how its dun by making a serious sequel, perhaps continuing where Salvation left off.

Look at Batman and Superman. Both hav had sum stinkerz, yet rallyed back to greatness.

Sure. But Arnold won't live forever. And many have argued that the Terminator role was made for him, even though he was not the original cast member for that role.

The franchize iz not dependent on Arnold. Salvation wuz great without any actual Arnold.

He wuz orijinally asked to be the Reese karacter and it wuz hiz idea to be the Terminator. (Or so the story goez)

I had thought it was Lance who was Terminator, and Arnold who was the detective, so they just switched. Was Biehn not originally cast at all?

They have very little time to fall in love. A lot of people came in and just could not pull it off."

Cameron wanted his pitch for money man John Daly to finalize the deal and had his friend Lance Henriksen show up to the meeting dressed and acting like the Terminator. . . . Daly was impressed by the screenplay and Cameron's sketches and passion for the film. . . . Cameron found a role for Lance Henriksen as Detective Hal Vukovich, as Henriksen had been essential to finding finances for the film.

I don't recall if I thought it at the time, but perhaps part of the reason Hicks didn't trust Bishop in Aliens was due to Reese's experience with Detective in Terminator.

No. Director Cameron went to his first meeting with Schwarzenegger with a bad attitude -- he was going to find some plausible reason to reject Arnold. Cameron was thinking, "How can this son of a Nazi act if he can't speak English?" Cameron was not a fan of Arnold's movies. The two were forced to meet because John Daly, the man with the money, insisted. Remember Arnold being elected governor? He was terrible in that role, but he gives good meeting, as they say in Hollywood.
