First, I think you're interpreting it wrong. I want to hear more on both sides of her quote - what was she asked?
Second: I do believe her "not caring about life." If you kill someone's children, or threaten to kill them, then they might not care about their own lives at that time, they will be hell bent on revenge - they probably don't care what they DID. Are any of your surprised by this? How many times do we hear in this country when a serial killer is caught the mother says, "he was such a nice boy, I don't think he's guilty."

Also - f*cking cnn - they probably asked her "do you care about blank, " about thirty times to get her riled up so the clip would go viral - cha-ching!

Well firstly, yay for the fucking world of news reporting that they feel the need to contact close relatives of such events. These people are curs, honestly.
Secondly, the mother sounds hysterical, as one would be in such circumstances.
Thirdly, she is already on record as saying her sons were framed and that she blames 'America' for killing them.
Fourthly - English is her second language, and she's not of your culture. How you understand people SHOULD react to grief and loss, may not be hers.
Finally, 'allah akabah' is a common expression in Arabic. Although we frequently associate it with terrorism, it would be used daily in prayers, as something people say in times of grief. Having said that, I believe the mother was making a point "Yes I'm a Muslim. So stick that in your pipe..."
How would anyone respond in such a situation, particularly given the hostility of the media against her.
Everything I have read suggests that the family are not extremists, but the eldest's sons increasing hardline religious beliefs were disturbing to them. The youngest son sounds like he was much loved by his friends in America and a normal enough kid. Who knows what has gone on here. Perhaps the story will unfold as more information comes to light.
I get that this is a terrible thing to have happened, and that the fact that they are Muslim inflames Americans and creates more fear, but it has yet to be proved they were anything more than two more disgruntled young men who turned to violence for no more cause than any other pointless mass killing that you have experienced in recent times.
