Okay I got it working. Ummm, I think.

Not sure if I will be available for the Virtual Shindig next Tuesday, but I do have an AIM handle, and for the most part only use it to chat with my son.
Of course, when I registered several years ago, ecgordon and several different variations of it were already taken, so I tried quite a few other Heinlein characters as well. I'm sure there is someone else who will know the book this one is from, but I assure you, I am not affilitated with any Muslim terrorist organization.

alrighty, anybody whos posted so far, I've got your names.
To Static and ImJacksNickname: I got your IMs, but was away from the comp and forget to put up an away message.
Ok Gunhand, sign on to AIM and click on "Set UP" its down on the bottom, above the stock ticker. Theres a little logo of a + and - sign.
A little box will pop up, click "Add Buddy" and type BrokenGriGri (thats me) Close the set up box. On your buddy list (Thats the white box thing with bold letters that say MyBuddies (0/1) ect..) my name will pop up and the number after my buddies will change to (1/1) (I am assuming i'll be your first buddy so far)
Doubble click my name and another little box will pop up. This is an IM message box, and how you comunicate with people using AIM. Type something in the box and click send (or hit enter).
If I'm around, I'll IM you back, or you might get my away message if I'm not. In either case, you've succesfully used AIM! Congradulations.
