I haven't the foggiest idea what time it would be. I'm only 70% sure that it would be 5:00 in California, so.....

If you're on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), then Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) is 4 hours behind you - as opposed to Eastern Standard Time (EST) being 5 hours behind - unless you have Daylight Savings Time where you are. So:
8:00pm EDT = 12:00am GMT
Also, California is on Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) right now, so:
8:00pm EDT = 5:00pm (PDT)
However, if you're in Arizona or Hawaii, you don't have Daylight Savings Time, and you subtract 1 hour less than you normally would, so:
8:00pm EDT = 2:00pm HST (Hawaiian Standard Time), or
8:00pm EDT = 5:00pm MST (Mountain Standard Time)
(I don't really know most of this, but I use these really good resources:

What about a 24 hour Firefly marathon (all episodes twice or something?), we could start in Aus with Serenity, Finland up to say Out of Gas, by around UK DVD-watching time be well up to HoG, then start again. Can't do the sums, but I know at work we always schedule meetings with our East coast guys around 2pm UK which is sort of 9am EST I think. Maybe not every month but it would be fun to try a couple of times.
Then do it all again just before the BDM comes out and get lots of extra publicity.

Thanks.
I think we're in daylight savings time at the moment.
I don't mind staying up though if it could be an hour earlier that would be a bit better for us Brit fans. That's if we're welcome to the virtual shindig.
