Yes and it would have come to Russia from Turkey. The Ottaman empire. Brought back by envoys sent from Russia. They would have drank it there and thought this is something the Czarina would trade for once sampled.
ETA: Did a bit of research coffee was brought to Europe by Venetian traders, and the Ottamans got it from them.

Another fact, albeit a sad one. With Trumps tariff war the price of coffee is going to go through the roof.

That is so true but I refuse to give up my coffee for tea, which will also have a huge tariff on it. I don't like tea.
