It gets so

But to address some specifics:

Quote:

Wasn't that the point of starting this thread...to demonstrate that islam is a religion of violence, which would mean that all Muslims would be likely to turn to violence?
Yes, it was most obviously the point of the thread...to say it was irony is a lie, given virtually every post on the question he has made. It’s an “out”, nothing more. The point of the thread was to put up acts of violence perpetrated by Muslim terrorists in order to make the point that Islam is a violent religion.
Quote:

What is the REST Of Islam saying, doing, about these thugs who murder in Allah's name ?
Been there, done that. But I’ll do it again, it’s certainly easy and quick enough:

How about a looong list of Muslims plrotesting terrorism? Your scroll finger would get tired, but I know you won’t even go to it. Others might, nonetheless: http://www.muhajabah.com/otherscondemn.php

In Oslo: http://www.aftenposten.no/english/local/article924678.ece

In several countries after the Indian bombings:
Quote:

Hyderabad: It was a small but impressive rally. There was neither slogan shouting nor speeches. Holding placards denouncing terrorism, Muslims representing various organisations marched from the Mecca Masjid to the Quli Qutb Shah Stadium on Sunday. Similar rallies were taken out by Muslims in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Faizabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai on Sunday.

In Germany:
Quote:

"Over 20,000 Muslims took part in a demonstration in western Germany on Sunday to protest against terrorism and violence in the world. Demonstrators holding national flags of the Turkey, Germany and the flag of the European Union marched through the downtown of Cologne. 'We are against terrorism of any form,' 'Terrorism is crime on the humankind,' banners with slogans were to seen everywhere in the march. This was one of the most largest demonstrations of Muslims in Germany's history."
http://www.pluralism.org/news/view/9512 Twenty thousand in One demonstration in OE country up against how many Muslim terrorists who have done violence in the name of Islam around the world?

How about the Free Muslim Coalition ( http://www.freemuslims.org/) whose first page advertises their Israeli-Palestinian Task force, which “works toward a resolution of most dangerous conflict of the 21st century”? And on the same page has an article:
Quote:

Tell us about individuals, organizations, student associations, religious leaders, mosques or any other group or individual of influence that advocates Muslim extremist ideology, engage in apologetic support for terrorist organizations or advocates "Jihad." Submit an anonymous report (link) of extremism or support for terrorism.
Their stance on terrorism:
Quote:

The Free Muslims Coalition believes that there can NEVER be a justification for terrorism. The Coalition believes that fundamentalist Islamic terror represents one of the most lethal threats to the stability of the civilized world. The existence of Islamic terrorists is the existence of threats to democracy. There is no room for terrorism in the modern world and the United States should take a no-tolerance stance on terrorism in order to avoid another tragedy, along the lines of 9-11. With the added threat of biochemical weapons, the call to defeat terrorism has never been so urgent.
Just because you don’t hear about it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening, worldwide and by millions of Muslims. Question asked on Yahoo Answers of “Why when Muslims protest against terrorism, media doesn't report it?” received the f

Niki2., could you go back and plant some more marsh grass? It was nice not having you here...Well, it's motha-fuckin true...

Actually, I missed you. This place is just not the same minus one old grayed-out hippie chick willing to go plant marsh grass thousands of miles away from her home in a retarded attempt to save the planet....You bring color to this dreadful place, as does your president to the white house. I love you.

The day Rappy states that it is possible for American Moslims to build a community center in the US for the sole purpose of going about their daily lives, the day he does not assume that the only reason American Muslims would want such a building is to thumb their noses and chant: "VICTORY on 9/11 HA-HA", the day Rappy actually *listens* to the planners of such an establishment state their purposes before making his assumptions and accusations...

That's the day I'll believe that Auraptor is not a racist bigot.

And on that day I'll shake his hand, pour us two glasses of champagne from the bottle I have chilling in HELL, and sit back to enjoy the pigs flying over head.

List for us all similar examples of where Christians or Jews have done the same, for their God and or savior.... You can't, because it's never happened. Gee, I wonder why.

Been there and done THAT, as well, and it’s so easy...let’s just start with, IN THE REAL WORLD, the Crusades, then go on to witch hunts in America, the Inquisition...we could go on for ages, but it’s not worth researching.

It's funny, because you KNOW I was talking of current times, and not 100's of years ago.
And if you're still fuzzy on that part... I'm talking about OUR times. mmkay ? Clear 'nuf for ya, Nikita ?

It’s a stupid question; virtually every religion has killed horrifying numbers of people in the name of their particular “religion”, however prostituted the actual religion has been...just like Islam.

The funniest part was the last bit, where you claimed ALL religions have slaughtered " horrifying numbers " JUST LIKE ISLAM !

No way are you being serious now. Islam has raised the bar on killing for their god. They're the Necromongers of the real world.

Chief Palestinian Authority cleric Mufti Sheikh Ikrimeh Sabri stated - "We tell them, in as much as you love life, the Muslim loves death and martyrdom.

"The modern definition of 'racist' is someone who is winning an argument with a liberal."

Some information on Islam for you

People who identify themselves as Muslims make up about 20 % of the world population, that's aboiut 1.57 billion. It is the fastest growing religion in the world/ Muslims live in countries all over the world, in both minority and majority numbers.

Abour 50 countries are primarily Muslim - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Muslim_majority_countries

As you can see, they cross the oceans of the world - different continents, languages, cultures races as well as styles of government - from parliamentary democracy to absolute monarchy.

islam is divided into 2 main sects - Sunni and Shia - both following the teachings of Islam, but have different views on leadership within Islam - Shia having the Imams whom they revere as a type of saint. I guess you could compare Sunni's to the more protestant of Christian churches and the Shia to catholicism, for want of better example.

A number of Muslim countries are secular in their government and laws, such as Turkey, while others use Sharia as the basis of law in various degrees of extremity.

Wahhabism is an extreme form of Islam that heavily influencial in countries like Saudi Arabia.

there is some evidence to indicate that there hasbeen a rise in extremism in Islam, a movement from more secular states to religious ones, often following wars or revolutions in which Western countries have been involved.

Iraq was a secular Muslim country under sadam hussein and has reverted to being a more religious state since the American invasion.

Many extremist groups such as the Taliban have resulted from the chaos that follows war and invasion along with the the only opportunity of decent education being at religious schools.

I hope this helps you understand, Auraptor, that Muslims are a large diverse group of people, and that picking out examples of violence does not mean that all Muslims are violent, prone to violence or terrorism and that the Qu'ran no more encourages violence than the Bible - both have their moments of smiting thine enemy along side loving thy neighbour. Religion - thy name means inconsistency

Awfully well said, Magons, I appreciate your input. Unfortunately, virtualy all of that has been presented, time and time again, to no effect. I'm sure it will have no effect this time, either. I'm afraid Mal4 pretty much hit the nail on the head. There is no reasoning; there will be no listening.

No, Raptor, what I wrote was quite valid. History counts, much as you'd like it not to. What is happening right now, in our times, IS "right now", and only a continuation of the history of Mankind. We're being propagandized to see Islam and Muslims as dangerous just as the English were propagandized to see Muslims as infidels in need of conquering. Both times in retaliation for violence by SOME Muslims resulting in hatred of ALL Muslims stoked by TPTB.

There's little difference throughout history in religions being used to further political and power agendas. I recognize you only want to deal wih the "now", but that doesn't make our past any less valid...any more than looking back on these times in the future will make THEM any less valid.

To do as you want is short-sighted and stupid, something mankind is pretty good at. Remember the old saying about those who refuse to learn from history? Well, we've refused to learn, as have other countries/religions/power-mongers, so we're at it again. Don't kid yourself Iraq was a legitimate war, tho' I know you will. There were/are soldiers in another "Crusade", Bush even called it that, guns had Bible sayings, people have easily been manipulated into hate against a mere community center which happens to have a prayer room in it...it's little different from various times in history.

Until you and others can learn to think for yourselves rather than letting yourself be swayed by buzz words and manipulation by those in power, it will happen again and again and again. And each time people will like you will say "Yes, but that was in the past..."

Once again, the question is posed: Aside from posting hate and anger about Muslims all the time and never seeing beyond that, what exactly do you propose to DO about what you believe? Or is it just a way to spew that anger you have inside you (originating from other aspects of your life and the excellent way you've been brainwashed into using tunnel vision to focus it), and nothing else?
