Thanks, and I also considered Incredible Shrinking Man, Invaders From Mars (original), War Of The Worlds (original), The Day The Earth Stood Still (original), Planet of the Apes (original), etc., etc.....see the pattern, see the problem....because of all the shitty remakes, it's hard to even remember how great the originals were.

Yeah I heard about Legacy. I have my concerns but I'll give it a whirl. So far I'm trying to avoid any imagery from it - but it's so difficult these days to avoid hype.
Still on the plus side it has Jeff Bridges in it :D

Really? I think the designs are remarkably faithful - just a natural progression reflecting the changes in technology over 30 years.
