Mine: I'm already at the tail end of the beginning of mine: to become a speech pathologist.Once I'm there I'm gonna work in the field with older kids and teens, do research to fill in the gaps re that age group, and lobby like a demon to ensure the kids who are currently "Flying under the radar" have their educational needs met (Particularly in NSW Australia which has the highest illiteracy and dropout levels in the country, where public schools are routinely performing below the national standard, and where teachers are working too damn hard with a minimalist toolbox and not enough support. NSW is also the only state in the Country that doesn't employ speech pathologists at schools...which is pretty astounding considering the curriculum is heavily language based. The Public system can only cater for older kids who are diagnosed with disorders affecting speech and language, so the kids with communication difficulty and no diagnosable disorder are missing out. I want to bring schools and Speechies together so we can team up on fixing this mess.
Aspiration 2: Comic Con before I'm 50...mind you don't know how I'll go once I'm there considering I'm crowd-and-queing-aphobic.I'm aiming to take my niece and goddaughters with me...though i haven't managed to geek em up yet.
