Of course it is, while such belief can advance the causes of justice and mercy, it can also just as easily advance the causes of hatred and intolerance, much like we have made "they hate us and our country/society/religion" quite true by bombing folk until they do.

It's WHERE you put that belief, that matters oh so very much, what you choose to believe, what you wish to MAKE true.

On the question of justice, and like concepts with which people feel imbrued with that creates a sense of the greater good among those who believe in such things that can in turn carry them to a greater evil, the way too much belief creates fanaticism etc.

To wit: When Tao is forgotten duty and justice arise

I suspect that the truth revolves around self determination, and that this is best done without opposition. The concept of justice appears to demand opposition.

Beliefs of this nature are definitely bred by society to create servitude by feeding fairy tales of duty justice and honor before the real demands of service appear. King Arthur represents a model for Britain, a unified Britain, which never really existed. It itself is drawn from other fairy tales and real historical events which tell very different tales.

I suspect most need to shatter more illusions than they need to cherish, given the manner in which they've been built up for them.

Really? Do you have anything remotely resembling "facts" to back up such a claim, or are you just pulling that out of your ass?

I haven't seen or heard of ANYONE here "whining" to the admin, except possibly PN, who was whining about being "censored" a while back.

I remember a whiny little neocon saying that he was quitting RWED because people were being so mean to him, but I don't know if he went running and crying to Haken or not. And even so, he didn't stay gone.
