As to the video posting, my brain just cross references things quickly, and some of these videos seem to hit certain points more precisley than I could with a thousand words.

In other words, its easier to express certain emotions with videos than with words.

Some here use emoticons, I use vids. heh.

For example: Your appeal to my intellect, and the way you did it, seemed to cross ref with this:

But the overwhelming majority of your videos go unwatched by the overwhelming majority of people here, so you've wasted your effort and our time and Haken's bandwidth by putting them here. Use YOUR words, and they'll actually be read and responded to. Post a video, and you've just given someone a chance to snark your horrendous taste in music and movies. (Like I just did! Thing is, KaneyLove, that what you DON'T realize is that I've tied you up here for days. Heh. I think the way he posts now is pretty fine, he's shocking and antagonistic when he wants to be, and all with a very smart polish. I'm impressed by his style.

And yeah @ the funny comment, now and then I'll be reading along, and MB will say something that'll make my eyes bug out and then I crack up. MB, you're good. I'm not even sure about the nihilism anymore, I think you had me going there too, in any case I shouldn't have taken that so seriously. So yeah.

Huh, someone who listens to reason. Go figure. You go up some notches in my book. On video content, three things strike me:

1) What connects in your brain may not connect in others. Sure, a lot of it is there in things like song videos, but it has to be the quintessential poignant focus of the idea in order to work.

2) Less is more. If you barrage people with videos they may screen them out as I often do as "Wulf's videos" simply because that category is one of the forum's most time consuming parts.

3) Find stuff off the beaten track. If it came to you via a mainstream media outlet, it's less likely to contain earthshaking ideas that will resonate with everyone.

A couple of videos I found really compelling recently, one posted by Pirate News with the people on a train track (and also the associated zombie video) and the other on property rights. Both are stick figure cartoons, but that doesn't mean that videos with stick figure cartoons are better. I think the video you posted which stuck with me was the moron trying to buy the iphone.
