I'm doing my final paediatric placement of my speech Pathology degree. My Clinical educator is lovely...but she's kind of... I don't know but it's nervewracking. She's positive all the time (and I don't think it's always sincere) she keeps telling me I'm doing brilliantly and then cutting into my therapy sessions and adapting things before I have a chance. Also I have to keep reminding her about things like permission notes and emailing me official letterheads for reports etc...my senses are on high alert...

>Well the positive all the time thing is probably wrote behavior at this point..but document everything and I do mean everything. When she makes changes be sure se notes it or you do...don't let anything go be sure you write down date, time, place others present etc.. be very careful

That does sound a bit overwhelming. Be sure to take good notes like MsA said.

Thanks. I have been keeping a diary where I've documented things. there is also a history of emails where I've asked for things. I'm sure it will all be ok. I think it's just that i prefer more direct verbal feedback from a teacher.

I'd count that as a win.

I guess you could call it my practicum. I have to qualify as being at entry level for both my final paediatric and adult clinical placements in order to graduate.
I am glad my CE's nice...am probably being paranoid because the last one was a bit mean and picked on every little thing I did and said.
