Let's not forget Monsters vs. Aliens. :) While perhaps not A+ material per se, I nonetheless enjoyed watching it.

Best movie for me has to be Star Trek. Also, I recently saw Whip It with Ellen Page and I liked it a lot.

I'll give the following scores for the movies I've seen.

District 9 -- 8 -- A lot of "fok" in this movie. I guess it's the South-African way. How engine fuel causes a person to grow an alien arm, however, has been the subject of much musing between me and my mind. Otherwise reasonable good flic, though.

Up -- 8.5 -- Edging on 'must-see,' but it's not entirely up there with Wall-E, or Toy Story, and such. It was replete with fun, though ("Get off that wroof;" the dogs playing poker, etc).

Star Trek -- 8 -- I got a few problems with it (but no more so than I have with any other Star Trek movie installment). It's sparkly, entertaining, fast-paced, feautures an attractive Uhura for a change, and overall succeeded very well in casting good actors for the younger counterparts of the crew of lore.

Terminator Salvation -- 5 -- A disappointment. I'm trying to recall the storyline, and find myself failing at even that (honestly, hand to God). 'Nuf said.

Drag Me To Hell -- 4 -- This ain't my genre, so I guess that influenced my score. The lead girl is only moderately attractive (yes, I know, I'm being shallow). And the story itself? Too much gore, which just makes it childish.

Transformers 2 -- 7 -- Objectively, it's probably only good for a 6 (if that). But if you're looking for the ultimate Blu-Ray experience, Transformers 2 is it! Kick-ass DTS-MA sound is a must for all these lovely explosions! And it featured some hot chics (no, not Megan Fox, but that Alice girl, for example).

Coraline -- 7 -- It's not really bad, and it's not really good. The animation is only so-so, and some of the support characters, like Mr. Bobinsky, are difficult to relate to. Caroli.. err, I mean Coraline, herself is endearing, though.

Surrogates -- 7 -- Apart from Bruce Willis, this flic does not really deliver. And Rosamund Pike is not really my type. It yielded some good moments, though, and the CGI was top-notch.

Monsters vs. Aliens -- 8 -- Entertaining, sweet animation. Cute filly in lead-role, good voice-cast, humorous, and overall a pleasant watch. Nothing totally special, though.
