The Hurt Locker was good. So was Traitor, but it was released in 2008 and I saw it in 2009.

UP, MOON, District 9, Zombieland were great movies and definitely getting the DVDs.

Trek was an utter disappointment. have no desire to ever watch it again, and not sure I would see a sequel.

Terminator was different than the usual terminator time travel plot but had issues.

Watchmen saw on PPV, was long and stylish, but can't say I would watch it again.

I liked Terminator more than most it seems but it wouldn´t be anywhere near my top list. Too many big mistakes in it.

1. District 9
2. The Hurt Locker
3. Inglorious Basterds
4. Drag Me To Hell
5. Watchmen

Honorable mention to Star Trek. I´m also pretty sure that "The Road", "Paranormal Activity" and "Moon" would be up there but I haven´t seen them yet.

I am split here... the alternate 'verse me hates with a passion the way they effed EVERYTHING about Trek. The here & now me likes it as a new take on a classic, 'cause that's what we get, like it or not.

I want to add Bright Star. Good heavens, the best love story I've seen on the big screen in years.

It is my number one favorite film for this year.

From the movies I've see and in no particular order;

Watchmen
Up
The Hangover
Inglorious Bastards

All solid, if not great, movies. But, to me the best of them so far is The Hangover. It is a sick and twisted movie with great pacing, funny unpredictable scenes and a simple story. Rent it and see it with your buddies. And if you imbibe, hoist a few.

For me, the easy answer is 'ZOMBIELAND'. That movie kicked so much ass it's ridiculous. A few thoughts on the rest:

Star Trek: Loved it, great re-imagining and good to see my beloved franchise get some new legs.
Terminator: Still bitter about Christian Bale being cast and his Batman voice being used ad-naseum. Also upset that it took 3/4 of the movie to advance the Terminator universe along.
Wolverine: Good popcorn flick. Not a lot of substance but enjoyable.
Moon: Expected more from it. Plot was minimalistic at times, I saw where they were going about 1/2 way through. Solid but unremarkable acting.
The Hurt Locker: Wanted it to be more than it was but to be fair, the trailers portrayed it as an action movie and it wasn't much of one in my opinion. Good treatise on that facet of war from what I have heard.
UP: Pixar hit another home-run, brilliant film.
Harry Potter: Best so far and made up for Order of the Phoenix which nearly made me promise never to watch films with boy wizards in them ever again.
Transformers 2: I hope some studio executive somewhere has the nuts to recognize that Michael Bay is a terrible person, regardless of the amount of cash he makes. That being said, I will buy this film and I will watch it again because explosions are cool.
The International: Forgettable to the extent that I know it had Clive Owen in it and had something to do with money and banks but I don't remember seeing it. At least it didn't scar me like...
GI Joe: You can not make a film with Dennis Quaid, a Wayans brother and Channing Tatum and expect me to believe anything beyond the opening credits. Awful film and surprisingly my letters to Paramount asking for my $ back go unanswered.
Inglorious Basterds: I can officially keep my man card when I say I love Brad Pitt. This movie was awesome and was my favorite until ZOMBIELAND came out. I'm a fan of QT and his directing style and this film was aces in my book.

For myself, there was "UP", and then everything else.

"Star Trek" did nothing for me. I did enjoy "The Time Traveler's Wife", but just about everything else from this year left me cold.
