Oh, I'm just messin' with ya, PR. I don't know whose sockpuppet that was. Sounds like Chris's style, though.

Oh, and the true sockpuppet isn't someone who posts similar to you -it's actually YOU posting AS someone else. That's the textbook definition, as I understand it.
F'rinstance, Bytemite and Fremdfirma share many similarities, but I've never had even an inkling of suspicion that they were one and the same. I just find them to be kindred souls. Likewise, Rue, Signy, and myself - and Niki, in a lot of ways - have very similar views on lots of issues, but we have some quite radically different views on other things. So none of us are sockpuppets of each other, just people with similar political leanings on most things.
I've often wondered if PN and O2B were the same person, but PN seems to have enough trouble with the voices inside his own head - I'm not sure he could keep it straight with trying to be someone else as well! And O2B and BDN seem eerily similar, but I doubt they're the same person.
I'm wondering if Chris's alter-ego (the one that he'll *admit to*, anyway) was Kaneman. And what the hell does it mean to be "tagged as offensive", anyway? I'm quite sure that I've been offensive before, but never been tagged, nor even warned. Maybe I need to step my game up!

Back when I was browsing through fanfic here way back when, I found my way to some old threads where people were tagged offensive, and WOW with the vitriol.
From the examples I saw, I think the requirement is you have to personally attack someone because of their race, gender, creed, or all three, and be so reprehensible about the attack that the entire community recoils and feels outrage. It also helps if someone starts crying, and a puppy gets kicked.
You can be out of line, but I think this is more akin to threatening to rape someone on, say, a thread about feminism. I mean, threatening rape in any situation would be unacceptable, but that post made in that particular thread is engineered for maximum explosive capacity.
I also have a sneaking suspicion that it hasn't happened recently, so you might be a couple years too late. :(
