and you know - in the late 60's early 70's it was hard to tell the zombies from the regular drug addled UT students....

Armadillo World Headquarters - what a dump - and what a great place.... count me as an Austin oldie...

btw: i still have a bootleg Shiva's Headband album given to me by Spencer Perskin himself....

FREM,

You've been playing too much D&D. In the cinema zombie land they could be the creation of a mad scientist, in which case, your religious paraphernalia won't help.

Mike, I think someone missed your [/sarcasm] possibly a sockpuppet, possibly intentionally

Actually, since we're on the topic, and I have a zombie story I'm working on, I want input. Best Zombie fiction in any form.

I'm trapped between fantasy and Sci-fi because of the nature of my writers group. I want the editors to give me their input, and so I need to be in both genres. The sci-fi I have at the moment was a strict storyline of a dream. It really freaked me out. I woke up thinking "that's what dawn of the dead should have been." I wrote it down, and then a comptuer virus killer killed my hd, and I lost the story, but it's still in my head because I wrote it down. That always helps

So, please, Zombie recommendations, anyone...

Dream, funny, I just saw an ad for a book entitled Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry - I have not read it, but the gist seems to be...

Quote:

THE PROBLEM: Terrorists are hell-bent on unleashing a dreadfull bio-weapon that turns ordinary people into flesh-eating zombies.

THE SOLUTION: Joe Ledger, the ultra-secret Department of Military Science, and a helluva a lot of bullets

don't know, sounds pretty formula-matic to me.

I'm not a big fan of the genre but i believe George Romero has the best reputation for making zombie movies...

I was mildly amused by Shaun Of The Dead and the Resident Evil series was ok.

An old movie, Let's Scare Jessica to Death, a 1971 low-budget horror film, directed by John D. Hancock, comes to mind for some reason.

good luck

eta: I liked the movie Omega Man, too..... sort of a pre-I Am Legend film

Both based on the same book, but I thought Omega Man captured some elements that I Am Legend left out, sadly.
