Sensei Ojins team of experts begin to restore the VFF Independence to her original design - an '03,
in the caves of the Dragonback mountains of Aquila.

Soon, 1 of the mechanics exits the Independence with a note that was attached to a bomb in the engine.
He rushes the note to Ojin and hands it to him.

"THERE IS A BOMB ATTACHED TO THE ENGINE OF THE FOLLOWING SHIPS:
1. SERENITY
2. TRANQUILITY
3. BROWNCOAT
4. INDEPENDENCE
5. PEGASUS [COLONY CRUISER]
WHEN THE CLOCK STRIKES 12AM, ON THE 25TH, CHRISTMAS DAY, 1 OF THE BOMBS WILL DETONATE.

IF ANY OF THE BOMBS ARE TAMPERED WITH AT ALL, THEY WILL ALL DETONATE.
MERRY BLOODY CHRISTMAS!

Ojin says "Alert these other ships at once!"

Ojin looks out his long window, overlooking the Dragonback Mountains and thinks:

* Why would Badger blow up these ships?

Serenity? She's unmanned but it would be symbolic.

Tranquility? She has wanted people onboard but he would be killing all the bounties.

The Independence? He and I are rivals and an explosion would collapse the caves killing thousands. But we are recognized as a 'holy city' and he would be bringing down a lot of 'heat' on himself.

The Browncoat? Kill brigands that do work for him? Maybe saffron has secrets about him that will incriminate him?

The Pegasus? An innocent colony ship? It would make a statement, or maybe there's someone on that ship that he wants dead. *

"That ship is bringing colonists to our 5 moons: Bethlehem, Fuji, Ryuu, Eragorn, and Elyon.

What can we do?"

He looks up at the moon 'Bethlehem' and is surprised to see an anomaly, a quasar has appeared just above the moon.

millions of miles away of course but positioned directly above Bethlehem.

badger then sits at his desk and opens up a channel to the ships listed on the bomb letter [except for serenity because she is unmanned]:

"to the crews of tranquility, independence, browncoat and Pegasus - my readings show all of you with your engines currently 'powered down'.
lets keep it this way shall we? i have activated the 'sonic sensor' on the bombs that are attatched to each of your engines, which means...
'you power up - you blow up'!
lets see what you're all made of."

Tranquility
Browncoat
Independence
Pegasus [colony cruiser docked at Colony Station 1]
Serenity [she is empty, only the Yardmaster at the Fox Impound Shipyard on Ariel gets the 'com]

"To all ships: I wish to make this interesting, so... starting tomorrow, Sunday,
I will disarm 1 bomb, on 1 of the ships, per day.
Do the math, 5 ships, with only 4 days left at that point.
Now we're having fun, yeh?
