Finally, a REAL debate.
Free and Equal is pleased to announce that CSPAN will be covering tonight's debate LIVE from 9:00pm to 10:30 EST.
Free and Equal has also been informed that Corporate Defense Counsel Party, er, Libertarian Party nominee Bob Barr has declined to participate due to "scheduling conflicts". Demoratic Party nominee Hussein Obama Soetoro and Republcon Party nominee Songbird McCain have also declined to participate, "because we don't give a frak about Amerikan sheeple, er, voters".
But three real candidates will be there, and will be forced to prove US citizenship, unlike certain other political parties and "debates".

Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin ( www.Baldwin08.com ) will join other third party candidates at the 90-minute forum, which is being sponsored by The Free and Equal Elections Coalition ( www.freeandequal.org ).
The Third Party Presidential Candidates Debate will be held at 9 p.m. (EST) at the Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Ave., NW, in Washington, D.C.
A total of six presidential candidates who are on enough state ballots to be eligible to win the election have been invited to participate.
According to Ballot Access News ( www.ballot-access.org ), the Constitution Party is the largest and fastest-growing third party based on voter registrations. The recent endorsement of CP candidate Chuck Baldwin by former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul has directed many of Paul's supporters to Baldwin. The 90-minute debate will focus on the issues that distinguish Chuck Baldwin from the major and minor party presidential candidates in the race: opposition to the so-called ‘bail-outs', opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, support for secure borders, the overturning of Roe v Wade, and a return to limited, Constitutional government.
In addition to Baldwin, the other invited candidates are Republican Party nominee John McCain, Democratic Party nominee Barack Obama, Independent Ralph Nader, the Green Party's Cynthia McKinney ( www.votetruth08.com ), and the Libertarian Party's Bob Barr.

And Nader is a self important little prig, not that he doesn't have a lot of good points, but he's been riding on past glories a little too long without getting his hands dirty - he needs to get back in the game personally instead of taking a fully administrative role if he wants to firm up his support base.
We can do better than this sorry lot, Nader's the best of the bunch, but it's a damn poor bunch to begin with.

Baldwin believes the scientific reports that global warming is sun-made, which is now making global cooling. Baldwin does support alternative energies that don't pollute, same as Nader.
The Carbon Dioxide Tax in McBama's $5-trillion Bankster Bailout Bill will pay those Carbon Taxes directly the to the international banksters, just like the income tax. Govt won't get a penny of that tax.

I wouldn't mind Baldwin so much as a side order to Ron Paul, but I would not want him in charge - I got too much personal experience with the rampant corruption and zealotry of his own party locally to think that's a good idea.
Nader, he could handle the job, not very well, mind you, but compared to Shrub a chimpanzee would be a damned improvement.
In general though, the third parties need to seriously up their game and quit worryin about offending the status quo and powers that be so much, start callin em out, namin names, laying the smack down...
We're not gonna bag it this time around, there's just too many people who might go for it that are so scared of four more years of hate, fear and misery that they're clinging to the false hope of a candidate that's in truth offered nothing but platitudes and a vaguely hopeful sounding theme.
Which means we get stuck with four more years of crap, sure - but are less likely to avoid getting suckered into WWIII cause of some partisan hacks ego, fear and stupidity, remember, like I said, Biden is NOT stupid, even if donkey-ears is.
And that means we got four years to get our shit together as far as third parties go, and we damn well better do it - and first things first, Barr has to GO, he's just GOP-lite with a thin coat of paint, and I half-suspect he's a damn plant to "pacify" the Libertarians a'la O'brien, which would explain a good bit of his otherwise nonsensical behavior lately.
Anyhow, if we can't get our shit together in four fuckin years, then other options must be considered.

The voting blocks of govt employees, who must vote as they're told or be fired, is just too large to beat.
Socialism (ie fascism/communism) now employs over 50% of the population, so the numbers will never be there for a 3rd party, unless govt employees defect.
That won't happen until their govt CAFR and 401k pension funds get stolen. Which is now happening today. Over $7-trillion was stolen from Pentagon CAFR pensions since 2000, reported by McKinney. That's just civilian employees at the Pentagon building in DC, not at other military bases.
So it'll take a civil war revolution to get most govt employees to forget their weekly bribe.
